Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 9hI love the mix of colours, the weathered wood, and the thought that every door has its own story. Sometimes the best ideas come from looking at something old and imagining what it could become. 030
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 9hI absolutely love this idea! There’s something about giving old things a second life that really appeals to me. These repurposed doors have so much character, and together they make a fence that’s far more interesting than anything you could buy new. 193
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: Recognizing and Responding to Sexual Violence Online Workshop from Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE)! 1110
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I’ve been volunteering all day at my friend’s tattoo shop, Heart & Dagger Tattoos on 124th Street. 4 tattoo artists have donated their time to do tattoos all day long where 100% of the $$ is going to Second Chance Animal Rescue Society. $9,375 raised so far. 1142
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 03/10/2026That’s how I got Peter. Lol. I took him for a long weekend of camping with no wifi. He didn’t know where he was going. It was the best date ever. 4 days of talking, eating, and sex. 121
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 03/10/2026To get the same flavour, you would simmer the carcasses on the stove for most of the day. 000
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026To make the soup, I sauteed one onion in some olive oil, 2 garlic cloves, 3 celery stalks, 3 carrots, some leftover rotisserie chicken. I then added the strained bone broth, one bunch of flat leaf Italian parsley, salt pepper, and some crushed ground chili flakes. 100
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026No recipe, but here is what I did. I used an Instapot to make chicken bone broth. I used two chicken carcasses, parsley stems, bay leaves, a few carrots, a fee celery stalks, one onion, pepper & salt. I had it on the pressure cook setting for one & a half hours. 100
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I’m currently bent awkwardly, which is why I’m still awake. 020
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It’s 2 am and Lucy is sleeping across the end of the bed. She’s so comfortable that I don’t have the heart to move her. 160
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026This is me choosing to chase mine. ❤️ Stay tuned… 130
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I’m going to follow the opportunities that excite me. I’m going to explore some dreams I’ve put on the shelf. And I’m going to believe in myself enough to see where they can take me. Maybe the dream changes as we get older. Maybe we finally get brave enough to chase it. 130
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I want to create something new. Something that brings together my experience, my passions, my curiosity and the things I genuinely care about. At 53, I have nothing left to prove—but I still have plenty I want to do. So I’m going to take some chances. 120
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It’s about the things I’ve always wanted to do. The ideas I’ve had but never pursued. The possibilities that excite me. The work that makes me curious and gets me out of bed wanting to build something. I’m not interested in simply recreating the career I’ve already had. 120
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026At 53, I’ve realized something: it’s never too late to follow your dreams. For a long time, I thought a career was about finding the next opportunity, taking the next step and building something that made sense on paper. But maybe this next chapter is supposed to be about something more. 240

Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026📚 Take one of SACE’s online courses. You don’t have to be an expert to understand consent, recognize the realities of sexual violence, and learn how we can all help create safer communities. Education is part of prevention. Compassion is part of support. And every one of us has a role to play. 100
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026💜 Make a donation to the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE). Your support helps provide services, education, advocacy and resources to people impacted by sexual violence. 100
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Sexual violence is something we need to talk about—not just when it makes the news, but all year long. One of the ways we can make a difference is by learning more, supporting survivors, and supporting the organizations doing this work every day. That’s why I’m asking you to do two things: 122
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Feels like Fall. I’m simmering a big batch of black bean chilli. 0121
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026If you receive a message asking you to participate in sexual violence, you don’t laugh. You don’t forward it. You don’t show up. You intervene. You report it. You protect the person being targeted. 160
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026The bear would not text 57 other bears and invite them to rape someone. Read that again. The bear doesn’t need a group chat. It doesn’t need 57 other bears to validate what it’s about to do. Accountability cannot stop with the person who commits the assault. 171
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Today, we remember the children. We honour the survivors. We acknowledge the families and communities who continue to carry this history. We remember. We listen. We learn. And we keep doing the work. 030
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Listen to survivors. Learn about residential schools and the children who never came home. Understand the intergenerational impacts. Recognize that reconciliation isn’t something we accomplish with one day of awareness each year. 171
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026And families who have to live with those decisions long after the conversation online has moved on. 180
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026You can support MAID. You can oppose it. You can have complicated feelings about it. But whatever position you take, I believe we owe people the truth. Because behind every debate about MAID are people. People who are suffering. People who are making impossible decisions. People who love them. 150
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026But I do think firsthand experience matters. So I want to share what I learned—not to tell anyone what they should believe about MAID, but to help separate what actually happens from what people are claiming happens online. 250
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I know what it feels like to sit beside someone you love while they make one of the most profound decisions a person can make. I also know that my experience is just that—my experience. It doesn’t make me an expert on every aspect of MAID, and it doesn’t mean everyone’s circumstances are the same. 160
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026My late husband chose medical assistance in dying. I was there through the process—from the conversations and assessments to the safeguards, the waiting, the preparation and, ultimately, the moment when he died. 160
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of misinformation about MAID online. Claims about what the process looks like, who can access it, what safeguards exist and how decisions are made. For me, this isn’t an abstract debate. It isn’t a political talking point. It’s part of my life. 160
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 27/09/2026My late husband chose the day he would die. And I was beside him when that day came. That sentence is incredibly difficult to write. But it’s also why I feel compelled to say something. 2120
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 21/09/2026A year later, I miss your energy, your humour, and your way of finding life in the everyday. Keep chasing the light, Darren. You’re still in my thoughts. 030
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 21/09/2026You were always looking for the light, chasing the next experience, the next laugh, the next reason to get out into the world. But what stays with me most is how you showed up for people. You helped without hesitation, gave without keeping score, and left a little more light wherever you went. 130
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Seeking the Light It’s been a year today, Darren, and I still find myself thinking of you— of bicycles and open roads, coffee and conversation, and that unmistakable way you wanted to feel alive. 290

Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 16/09/2026You don’t have to agree with Macklemore. You don’t have to agree with his politics. But artists, musicians and ordinary people should be able to use their voices to call attention to suffering, injustice and human rights. 0112
Willy Skinner @willygrant.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Whatever your politics, the freedom to speak up for people experiencing suffering is something worth protecting. 2113
