I have the same experience. I just chalk it to everyone having their own priorities and commitments. Being friends with a lot of other creative people, I can't always bring myself to check out every new project someone has going on. I think your situation is common, though.

It's very slick! The only thing I'm not sure about is that levels are a mixture boring, easy parts that lure you into false sense security... and really tough parts that suddenly kill you. The easy parts feel like a waste of time to practice the hard parts. But lots of shmups are like this.
