Willy @willy.life · 03/10/2026I’m starting to suspect when youtubers say “comment dingo bellow & I’ll send you the recipe/link/pdf” vs having it in the description…smells like a scam. 000
Willy @willy.life · 02/10/2026Today, had a failed deployment cause AI slipped in one of those stupid long dash — instead of a normal dash - and IAM role descriptions don’t support non-ancii text, which none of us caught or the AI reviews. Secrets manager descriptions are totally fine though. Tricky one for my eyes to notice 000
Willy @willy.life · 21/09/2026I broke this on my steamdeck. Curious if its the gyro? I might need to attempt to solder this back on 100
Willy @willy.life · 20/09/2026I'm curious if there is a neovim plugin to track your AI edits like a separate git change so you can more easily move through your codebase after an auto session to see where you need to focus on verifying crap or just more easily see the summary of work for easier review? 001
Reposted by WillyP(aul) Frazee @pfrazee.com · 13/09/2026Let’s try not to confuse AI safety with infra security. If the problem is that the networks are insecure then it seems like we make that the priority. If LLMs are answering “make this website” prompts with “the logical solution is to kill all humans” that’s a separate problem 1626320
Willy @willy.life · 12/09/2026I’m telling people, we trying so hard with AI to prompt code over and over to eventually be safe like rust instead of just using rust 001
Willy @willy.life · 11/09/2026I want someone to tell me again how to use AI their way with another custom in-house electron app so I can kindly smile say sure sure sounds cool and get back to using neovim + herdr + claude/kiro/codex This setup brings me joy building with AI. Its all I have left in this race man. 000
Willy @willy.life · 01/09/2026Pretty much all programmers are going through a midlife career crisis. I’m seeing this org wide. Everyone has a spectrum of experience and concerns which are forming into a spectrum of where they land. Just know people might be struggling and just give em grace 000
Willy @willy.life · 29/08/2026Hackathon in my higher org top projects were rust based. Folks keep comparing rust to legacy java, but the unspoken gains I see are devs moving from custom in-house java to idiomatic rust tooling. Both those moves increase AI efficiency. Really cool to see rust growing faster internally 000
Willy @willy.life · 22/08/2026I don’t know why teams at Amazon will do all their CDK in typescript and then use python for all the backend stuff instead of just…using node typescript? like whyyy switch languages to make api calls or use aws sdk do basic stuff I use python only when I have a specific library in mind and its rare 020
Willy @willy.life · 22/08/2026Being on extra immune suppressor meds cause my other ones are not working, finally causing issues with another cold after only few weeks of being free of the last one 😫 000
Willy @willy.life · 20/08/2026Wayy smarter devs on code review tell me to add some logic I ironically took out cause it was a footgun. I decided to add specific alarming for it then, compromise, but took out like 2 days. Ironically, the devs now discovered the exact silent bug I told them this would cause in their prod app. 100
Willy @willy.life · 15/08/2026I’m starting to love golang lot more. Someone sent me like 2k lines of AI powershell for cli tool. I used AI to rewrite it in golang. It was much easier to follow. Then started cleaning up the code, the bad parts stood out like sore bits Now I need to learn more golang cause plz no more powershell 120
Willy @willy.life · 09/08/2026I had this sign made (cringe 🤏). Walking back to my car post workout, I was over-stressed with life and the coming workday. This question cut through everything in my head outta nowhere. I looked up at the beautiful sunny sky. I decided this was a good day. And that made the entire day 100% better. 000
Willy @willy.life · 04/08/2026Have ya been held vibe code review hostage yet? Any feedback is pushback which is an escalation? It sucks. 000
Willy @willy.life · 25/07/2026I’m going give neovim another try with focus on a solid AI workflow. I like zed a lot but I fight it here and there. I feel like I just want to stay in the terminal and make a custom workflow Helix is nice, but I find that I want to stay native vim and there is just way more support 100
Willy @willy.life · 15/07/2026Curious how folks keep their code reviews/pull requests so small I’m like starting to do stacked feature branches but I hate having to split up stuff into 3 CRs before its a “done” feature vs here’s the working thing The problem has been building stuff on just main branches solo for 5+ years 000
Willy @willy.life · 12/07/2026I really wished I had more wisdom to navigate the bureaucracy. The silly things I have to deal with because of non-technical leaders trying to get promoted are pushing would never happen if anyone with good taste saw what was happening. I just need way more growth before I’m ready to lead 000
Willy @willy.life · 10/07/2026With cdk, I’ve been leaning into config based design and scaling So now I can generate my infra via configs and its really nice aws pattern. Now thinking I need to create a lambda that generates monitoring alert based on resources deployed so I can keep my scaling fancy. Maybe. Will sleep on it 110
Willy @willy.life · 10/07/2026I went on a boat happy hour thing & forgot my hat and sun screen so im burnt My poor head and nose 000
Willy @willy.life · 09/07/2026I find its best to give myself space to think. Swim workout = thinking time. Commute to office = thinking time Should be asleep at 1am = thinking time 000
Willy @willy.life · 04/07/2026I signed up my kids for the ”Trump Account” cause free $1k and easy investing setup, seems like a fine program. But we all know that calling a savings account for children buy your own name is totally Epstein Island level vibes 000
Willy @willy.life · 01/07/2026I’m doing stuff I’ve always wanted with claude now so fast. But I still have trust issues cause it will code in useless stuff or wrong stuff. The problem is over trusting it like tesla autopilot 000
Willy @willy.life · 15/06/2026If you ever need to look at an industry that could use more disruption, look at the AV industry big proprietary hardware players and how horrid their software is. Then how badly they struggle to make use of the cloud this last decade. Now these same poor taste companies will struggle against AI. 000
Willy @willy.life · 14/06/2026Getting a recliner lazy-boy couch while having a 7 month old has been a great choice. The easy recline with sleeping baby on chest then chill with some gaming feels peak millennial parenting. 010
Willy @willy.life · 13/06/2026I hope the non-technical leaders get burned hard when they realize their non-technical managers can’t be trusted to provide accurate data on their vibe code solutions when they don’t even know what git is or how I’d rather have AI review code vs a non-coder 000
Willy @willy.life · 07/06/2026I want the steam machine more than I thought I would even though I have a perfectly fine gaming PC, just the social simplicity of playing games on TV my son likes to watch me play 000
Willy @willy.life · 31/05/2026I thought I was dumb buying ps5 1tb ssd drive in December for $120 I want another 1tb stick & just guess not going to 000
Willy @willy.life · 25/05/2026Well, my sons sure got my bad allergy gens as we all react to the seasonal changes 🤧 000
Willy @willy.life · 24/05/2026Finally trying to get my local compute setup with hermes agent. Trying to get into testing some local AI workflows 000
Willy @willy.life · 21/05/2026Society did not prepare us to deal with our aging parents with technology. We in America are seeing our elder‘s wealth vaporized by meta with their scam platform as a service. 000
Willy @willy.life · 19/05/2026I will never forgive facebook/meta for introducing my dad to scammers. They are a cancer on society and millions of vulnerable elders and people will continue to be harmed. Cell phones have also played a huge role. Our “smart” phones are scammer gateways. We need a better mainstream device. 000
Willy @willy.life · 13/05/2026Why do smoke detectors batteries need replacement at night every time 000
Willy @willy.life · 08/05/2026London was pretty great! Way nicer city than Seattle / most US cities. I saw way more young people and children chilling in public places. 000
Willy @willy.life · 08/05/2026AI fails most when someone does not know what they don’t know. Experience is a multiplexer with AI since its easier to drive it and call bs. The skill is to get AI to help you expand your view points and discover what you don’t know. It has limits. 000
Willy @willy.life · 03/05/2026My son (4y) all day: Bye dad, time for you to leave us 😅 Later I predict he’ll say he’s is too sad cause I’m gone, so he needs to sleep with mom 🤣 000
Willy @willy.life · 03/05/2026Going to London for a work trip. 10h flight 🫠 I bought wife pokopia for birthday & my steam deck screen is cracked boo. ipad / kindle it is 000
Willy @willy.life · 26/04/2026I would start a hardware company making AV products that would scale better in the corporate world starting with DSP/audio. Shure, Senhieser, Yamaha and Audio Tecnica all have major flaws. Biamp, Qsys, Extron and Crestron are pending becoming obsolete. 010

Willy @willy.life · 23/04/2026You don’t understand the pain of loss not being able to drink coffee for last few weeks has caused me 😮💨 000
Willy @willy.life · 18/04/2026I’m designing a proxy api wrapper in AWS, curious if I should use sqs for each request, but I just make it a direct apig > lambda > api > response I feel like sqs is not needed cause its not a messaging service just adding more control over a third party saas service 000
Willy @willy.life · 15/04/2026Its happening. I’m on code reviews from non-devs who vibe code thats being reviewed by AI then fixed by AI, then demanding my eyeballs…and the code is a mess with issues. To review the 1k+ lines fully, I have to stop building. I need to put the breaks on this…AI is great till it wastes my time. 000
Willy @willy.life · 08/04/2026You know, my team almost hired the same artist doing Brandon Sanderson’s book covers to do a team logo, but nooo 020
Willy @willy.life · 01/04/2026Getting up at 5am to swim a mile I thought would be really hard. Getting up early became easy. Getting to the gym is fine. I love starting my day with a win. Being in the worst flair up with ulcer colitis for last 4+ months is the challenge. I can’t workout everyday. The energy drain is depressing 100
