Made it back to defcon after quite a few years. The "sterile" conference center is less inviting than CCC. It’s interesting that art&culture hasn’t found a toe-hold in the US, though follows from the work rather than hobbyist focus.

A great conclusion to the ride today. After a bit of wading in sand, we got the majority of the day on a not busy service road for the train. After a large steep hill into Nairobi we got a final chaotic ride through traffic on a dual carriageway to complete the loop.
The final highway of the ride. The train accsss road, with upcoming hill to the ridge ahead. Suswa town this morning Great riding on the new road.

A slog in the morning, though interesting to see kfc and a more built up narok than any city yet on this trip. Then a payoff in the afternoon with a big downhill ride to suswa.
Stocking up on waterA kfc advert in narokOloiparak as far as I can tell is mostly a gas station. The gas station store did have ice cream though, so I’m a fan. A recently built train station in suswa. The Chinese construction and resemblance is striking.

Started the day with a big climb out of kisii. The road quality degraded a bit in the middle of the ride, but never felt too bad. Cooler temperatures and much of the climbing behind us now.

Didi - the uber equivalent- shows a count down in seconds for red lights. It doesn’t have an API but rather enough density of drivers to estimate the traffic light cycles.
