We need more homes, but millions won’t be able to afford rent no matter how much we build b/c they don’t make enough even to cover basic housing operating costs. Any real solution must also expand rental assistance, so that *everyone* can afford stable housing.

The bill also wouldn’t ensure stability for families with Emergency Housing Vouchers, which face a funding cliff as soon as late 2026. It has language that could help some families with EHVs, but mainly by shifting assistance away from other families in need on waitlists.
