#Tavqotd Not sure if this counts, but Meliahwyl's father runs a ship repair company in the city. He's basically a Ship Mechanic Businessman. She had a sinking feeling that they'd have to encounter him in the city because there's surely no way he isn't wrapped up in Gortash's trade deals somehow.

#Tavqotd Yes. Without hesitation. Teeth are tools, no different from hands, claws, or feet. Wild shape has fully normalized the use of her teeth or jaws when need be. They aren't the most useful when humanoid, but I've played with the idea of her having something akin Primal Savagery (5e).

#Tavqotd If they were to die of old age, Meliahwyl and Wyll knew that he would die long before her. Recognizing reality isn't the same as coming to terms with it, however. For several months after his death, Meliahwyl continues to find little notes he hid around their home. She saves them all.

#Tavqotd Being an ace druid who transforms into animals and watches the world around her means that Meliahwyl implicitly felt more like an observer who exists outside of the "natural" cycle. It's a difference she's internalized, but rarely verbalizes. It...scares her. It can be alienating.

#Tavqotd I actually feel like much about Meliahwyl is a compilation of the 'tiny' details. Just like anyone! To pick a random one that I've mentioned before: One of her grandfathers was human. For this reason, she isn't a pure wood elf. This enables her to sleep with a drawback: sleep paralysis.

#Tavqotd For the most part, Meliahwyl has no problem getting up in the morning! She can adapt decently to wonky sleep schedules. Her sleep problems (dreams, paralysis) take an emotional toll, however. That said, she loves resting. She'll happily sleep the day away with Wyll in bed or in the grass.

#Tavqotd Yes! Meliahwyl and Wyll have two daughters. Aurora was taken in during their last adventure prior to returning to Baldur's Gate, ~10 years after the main story. She was ~4-5 years old. Elanor, their biological child, was born a couple of years later.

Although I once imagined a conversation between her and Wyll where he said "I must be a lucky man" and she replied, "and I a lucky druid" so maybe I can unpack that at some point 😅

#Tavqotd Meliahwyl is very neutral good. She was lawful good as a child, but has since learned that either A. those making the rules don't always have everyone's best interest in mind and B. strict rules can be illogical, have unintended consequences, or be inflexible to changed conditions.

The Myconid Colony especially fascinated her. Eventually, she needs the sun and stars, so returning to the surface provides relief.

#Tavqotd Meliahwyl is quite easy to befriend. Those who don't know her might accuse her of naivete. Becoming a close friend is more difficult. A confidant, more so. Becoming someone to whom she'll intentionally allow the worst sides of her to show: extraordinarily difficult. Wyll is one of the few.

#Tavqotd Because of Meliahwyl's exp shapeshifting, she adapts first. However, Wyll's horns momentarily throw her off balance. His neck muscles have adapted to them, though, so she eventually gets the hang of it. The changed groin is strange for her. The change is much more jarring for Wyll!

#Tavqotd Meliahwyl and Wyll would probably cook something warm and hearty together, like a stew or one-pot. Then it's cuddling either by the fire with a book (or writing their own) or in the woods under the stars. They dance as slowly as possible. These nights are the most precious.

#Tavqotd Thanks to her travels, Meliahwyl can ride! She's not an expert, but speak with animals fills in the gaps. That said, in recent years she's more likely to...be the horse. She helped the party move camp as a draft horse, and, post-game, occasionally acts as Wyll's steed.
