Or he could feign ignorance and a strong steering of curiosity causing him to slip the one hundred gil at the entryway, gaining access to the exclusive venue and earning him his soul object of anonymity.

The mask slotted too comfortably over his face to be natural and beckoned him to join the gathering crowd of identical faces pooling by the stage. A trance, he reasoned, a spell. Anything to excuse what he was here to witness with full motive and premeditation.

I had this idea a couple months ago and I was suddenly possessed to write it. I love the concept and apparently so does a guilty Clive.

A lot of people in this fandom are needier than Shane Hollander. the amount of comments demanding more content is anxiety inducing. And not "I love your work, can't wait for more", that's fine.

It's people telling me I shouldn't put out a oneshot because I "need to" focus on my multichap. People upset that I haven't updated in "awhile" when awhile was a week ago. I've posted 150k words worth of fics in 3.5 months (no Ai used! Just me and my brain!) and that's still not enough for people. (post 2 out of 8)

I'm replaying the Bioshock games (ugh my old beloveds) and I am now obsessed with the idea of Big Daddy!Clive and Little Sister!Joshua. And I do want to showcase or remind people of the Alpha line of Daddies...

The main difference between the Alpha Series and the other Big Daddies is the nature of their bond to the Little Sisters. Each Alpha Series was created with an unbreakable physiological bond to a single Little Sister. This bond created a fail-safe enforced by each Little Sister's pheromone signature—an Alpha Series that either wandered too far from his bond partner for an extended period of time, or lost his bond partner due to them dying (or if their heart stops at all), would lapse into coma or, failing that, collapse into madness.

This bond proved to be too effective, as each Big Daddy in the Alpha Series became essentially useless if their Little Sister died from having her Sea Slug harvested by Splicers or saved by Brigid Tenenbaum's antidote plasmid. Any Alpha Series model that was not rendered comatose as a result of his Sister being lost descended into emotional instability to the point of psychosis (Gilbert Alexander recalls seeing one Alpha Series crying at a Gatherer's Garden in mourning for his Little Sister in one of his audio diaries). The Plasmids and Tonics the candidates were exposed to destabilized them further, as rips in the armor of Alpha Series encountered in Fontaine Futuristics reveal their skin as lumpy and grotesque. The remaining prototypes employed by Sofia Lamb and Reed Wahl were only useful as foot soldiers, as their suicidal aggression made them unfit for anything else.

Yet, as he leaned in for a heated kiss, with lips parted and mouth watering, a loud ping struck the floor and caught his attention. Joshua panicked, fumbling about on the rug until in victory he reclaimed what he had dropped. A small, familiar shaped bottle bubbling about with clear fluid.

Every inch of Clive's skin deepened to a berry red. "J-Joshua! When did you get that from my–" He glanced towards his nightstand which still had its half-empty vial tucked behind a candle and his eyes widened. Then, he grasped Joshua's wrist to confirm his suspicions. "Where did you get this?!"
