Just finished loadbang's summer festival yesterday night. We had such a great crew! There is a sense of community and clear and open eyes about the world that was heartening to see. Also at the end I received so many hand written letters. The kids crave real objects, and that gives me hope.

Just figured out that if I look at the screen while taking a selfie I go a little cross-eyed, but if I focus past the screen to the middle distance it goes away. But I also look much more serious so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ can you tell I don't really want to practice hard today?

Getting rid of the cross-eyed look, and trading it for a lot more seriousness

1161

William Lang @williamlang.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

two days ago federal agents shot two people in Portland and then just left. it looks weird typing that out, but that's literally what happened. no one knows who did the shooting.

Bob Day, Portland’s police chief, said at an evening news conference that he had no information on the identity of the two people who were shot, a man and a woman. He said that the federal officials involved in the shooting were no longer on the scene when local officers arrived.
The police were alerted to the shooting when the injured man called 911, Chief Day said.

The chief’s comments appeared to underscore the limited cooperation between federal and local officials. Chief Day said local officials knew little about the shooting and that the investigation would be led by the F.B.I. “We do not know if this is an immigration-related event,” he said. “We do not know which federal agencies were involved.”
