Bill Bruschi @williambruschi.net · 18/07/2026At work, nearly all of my code is written by AI. I still believe the practice of Software Engineering is as important as ever, perhaps even more so. Also, scope increases when using AI tools. I find myself simultaneously building my systems and building AI tooling that builds my systems. 110
Bill Bruschi @williambruschi.net · 18/07/2026AI tools I've been using the most, both at work and personally: 1. agent-shell - As an Emacs user, really like having all the Emacs commands available while interacting with Agents. Easy to extend. 2. Claude Code 3. Opencode - Using this more and more, especially with other models. 141
Bill Bruschi @williambruschi.net · 16/02/2026Finally wrapped up Advent of Code 2025 over the weekend. Practically all my code at work is AI generated nowadays, so it was nice to get some hands on coding in for a change. I did use AI for the not so fun parts: scaffolding files and documentation. 020

Bill Bruschi @williambruschi.net · 15/03/2025So far, the AI coding assistants I've tried in earnest are GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Aider. I think Cursor is the best in terms of usability. But I'm rooting for Aider because: 1. It's terminal-based and not tied to an editor. 2. It's open source. aider.chataider.chatHomeaider is AI pair programming in your terminal 110
