Oh, and, I just realised the way I worded the alt on the picture of wooper can lead to a missunderstanding : Wooper's PAW was eaten by the fish, not Wooper itself. The fish isn't big enaugh to fit an entire axolotl in its mouth, luckily.

Just precising that by this, I don't mean to put down your achievement of having a rare dog breed or whatever is rare about her. I know axolotls probably aren't as rare as that dog. I just meant to show my own, rarer than usual, pets.

This is, in order : Flare, Wooper, and Gobou. While not that rare, axolotls have smaller numbers than other domesticated animals, with only 1 million of them domestically, and somewhere between 50 and 1000 in the wild. Their ability to regrow limbs is also rare in nature. Wooper is doing that atm

Flare, she is a female gold albino axolotl who lost her color due to stress prior to me adopting her.

This is wooper, gender unknown, leucistic axolotl. It lost its paw, it was presumably eaten by one of my fish, my only fish who is big enaugh to eat it. So I am looking to rehome the fish in question, since I don't want to just flush it in the toilet, because to me, all life is precious.

This is Gobou, the wild type axolotl, gender unknown. It is the youngest of the 3. When I look at its gills, I am worried because one of them, specifically the top left (Gobou's left, so our right) one, has an insane curve forward, which is super abnormal. They say an axolotl's gills display their stress level, but, I don't know what to do to make Gobou feel less stressed and less distressed anymore. I've cycled the water, I've moved all 3 of them to an aquarium that's 2.5 times the size of the one I originally put them in. , etc.

axolotls just sit in place, not moving a muscle 90% of the time, and they don't have eyelids, so it's hard to tell of they're awake, asleep, or dead until they decide to move. Don't worry, my axolotls (the 3 in the picture below) are very much alive.
