I forgot I had an account here. So here is a picture of a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher I took recently as my apology.

Science cafe programs are so cool. Last night, we learned about our state crime lab firearm forensics team and all the high-tech science they use in their work. This is a 3D scan of two casings showing how they match up markings.

Students at my university's Makerfest made a pinball game that teaches kids about the food pyramid. Fun and educational!

Teenage Will would be losing his mind in these photos. Last night, I got to MC with Dr. Richard Marks at the Carolina Science Cafe about his career in spatial intelligence and AI. Having spent many years in the Playstation R&D Magic Lab and myself as a lifelong Playstation player, I was thrilled.

This is your reminder to go visit your local science museum. They are doing cool stuff and we need to support them now more than ever. This is Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill, NC where I have worked for the past 2 years. Highly recommend visiting!

One of my favorite mugs from one of my favorite science podcasts! If Tiny Matters isn't on your regular listening, I highly recommend it. @samjscience.bsky.social and the other amazing hosts, producers, and writers do an incredible job.

Working for a planetarium means I get to learn about our night sky every week. Plus also have an existential crisis about how small we are in the universe at the same time.

Went for a walk on this beautiful autumn afternoon. 9 bird species identified including the wonderful Ruddy Duck.

A survey from the Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance has found that a total of 66% of educators are teaching about climate science, and of those, 50% are spending less than 10 hours per year on this topic. Most educators do not feel confident teaching this topic.

Flashback to when it was warm enough to go diving in my local quarry. Cannot wait for things to warm up next year.

Teaching kids to make their own protest signs is an undervalued skill.

Finally decided to jump on here after feeling like I lost my community on other platforms. Excited to talk about cool museums, environmental education, and helping everyone be a better science communicator.
