Whales play a big part in marine ecosystems. Whales feed in the nutrient rich,deep end of the ocean. They then excrete the nutrients in shallow waters, which serves as fertilizer for phytoplankton. Phytoplankton contributes to more than 50% of the oxygen in our atmosphere. #whaleday #science
