That Fergie is very like ours, what a little workhorse, not a minter but does the job very well. 👍

Is that right? How surprising! We do have quite a few in our stately home gardens planted by the Victorians. This was one of The 3 Sisters, a group of 3 that are a good size but I don’t think are anything like the size of the some of Californian ones.

My #thicktrunktuesday this week is a picture from @WestonbirtArb . It’s a quirky shot I took of one of the ‘Three Sisters’. Giant Redwoods planted in 1861. It needs a click to view 😊

Very striking. I’ve made very similar a few years ago as a range of coasters 😊

I love making my Oak designs in Autumn. I love the colours and the smells of Autumn but I hate to see the leaves fall. 🍁🍂🍃

I see exactly what you mean. Mine is to depict water and is textural, but I have done similar patterns in the same way. I’d show you more but it’s forbidden at the moment. Really interesting, thank you 👍

Such striking and intricate markings. I didn’t realise how lovely they were until I was asked to make a pair in glass, really lovely markings.

Yes, I’d thought about that or do a few types and let people choose if they’d like all the same leaf or different as you say 😊

Thanks Brenda 🙏. Hope to get some more in the kiln tomorrow then maybe think of some more botanical designs, it was greenhouse glass after all 😊

Mr beagle is back so there is much sniffing & exploring happening… but the glass work continues. Happy to say the first greenhouse glass test coaster was a success. Maple leaf design came out well. 👍

Wild Indigo Artisan Design @wildindigoartisan.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

I’m recycling - Kindly been given a whole greenhouse of glass. I can’t mix that glass with art glass as they wouldn’t get on but I can do my clear designs or use enamels. The glass cut well, so time for some tests. Revised a kiln schedule, can I make some maple leaf coasters I wonder for starters?

No problem at all. The shop is full of lovely things from fragrances to homewares then upstairs a lovely gallery. If you go don’t miss the metal chest full of artisan jewellery, each drawer a different artisan. Cafe/restaurant always lovely, often busy. Oh and then there are the beautiful plants 😊

It is so so lovely. Yes it’s a great plant centre and have an amazing selection of healthy plants but the way they do it all is the special thing. A beautiful shop and gallery and wonderful restaurant too. A few more pics for you …
