iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I had a physical copy of it but had to lose it in a move, like most books I owned at the time. I should really get a new one. I originally discovered it through the "Flight" comic anthologies. Dude's work was a big inspiration to me as a teen.

I Spent 14 Years Hand-Animating a Feature Film — THE SAGA OF REX | Official Trailer

Freaking out right now because an artist whose stuff I've loved for a long time is finally setting up to release the animated film he's been making based on his comic that I really loved as a teenager www.youtube.com/watch?v=clVY...

I didn't do the best job, but I also didn't do the worst. It looks acceptable and it's as sealed as it needs to be. Tbh it seems to be better now than it was when I moved in.

Aaaahhh it's been a productive day and I got some housework done. :) Including re-caulking stuff, which I was dreading doing. It wasn't even that hard, but my hand is easily strained so all that scraping and handling the gun has me a bit sore now. But it's done, and I feel good about it.

Ugh, car troubles are the worst and I know them too well, sending you strength. It's great you're able to fix it yourself though! But the price still sucks. :(

always remember that talent is a lie to make you think you can't learn to do anything with enough dedication

This has always been a strongly held belief of mine. I feel what people actually mean usually is skill, which is a thing anyone can start to develop at any point in their life! The people who "look talented" are just the ones who've consistently been at it for a very long time.

Also sound design. The fun value of sound design is so ridiculously understated. You can just make atmosphere and noises to craft a whole environment out of audio. Isn't that cool? Isn't sound cool?

I highly recommend that anyone even a little interested in music tries it out. You can pick up any audio program and just start. No one will stop you. I was never even formally trained I learned everything by fucking around in FL Studio since I was a teenager until I knew what I was doing. It's fun

One of the best things about being able to compose music is you can make your own soundtracks for your own stories and OCs and you can make it sound exactly the way you want it to if you really put in the effort

I'm interested! I do a lot of alien and original species stuff!

020

I do a lot of worldbuilding and extensive character lore, and I do have a comic coming in the nearish future! :)

Context: Discord handled the age verification controversy in a really lame way trying to be memey about it with their mascot, so people are making LOADS of art of the discord mascot getting brutalized in various extreme ways in response

It was fun and I met some cool people btw. There were only like two angry shouting men protesting and they fucked off within 10 minutes of me being there lmao

Went to a pride event in an unfamiliar area today, walked in the direction my nav pointed unsure if I was even going the right way, and then in the distance I saw a sign that said "HOMO LOVE IS SIN" and immediately knew I was in the right spot. Thank you homophobic protesters for helping me find it!

redesigned my sonic oc, era, recently! :] #oc

An illustration showing two forms of a Sonic OC, Era the Hedgehog. She has purple fur and quills, with a tan colored mouth area and arms. She has brown eyes. She has a yellow and pink flower under one of her ears. She wears a cloak that covers a large portion of her torso that is based on the yellow and pink flower's design. In the back, it extends down into a cape. She has a deeper purple undershirt and shorts, both being varying shade. She has Brown boots and gloves as well. She is wearing a light bluish/green pendant that is made of quartz. The second form shown is her super form, called Eternal Era. She has slightly lighter colored purple fur and quills, and her eyes are now the same pink that is present in the flower and cloak in her design.

YESYESYESYESYES I'd love to form more genuine connections with other people who do original fiction/oc stuff!!

Well, it's a good thing the actual community already has plenty of skilled people who have already made plenty of animations, short films, etc. then, isn't it? I'm perfectly happy with that and all the brilliant writing I've gotten to read.

It is. Regardless, I won't be supporting it if A24 doesn't respect the SCP staff's rules and authors' wishes (probably won't at all atp). The communication and handling so far has been way too fishy, and reasonably comes off to many of us as a corporation attempting to capitalize on the community.

I love when kids do this stuff it's so fun to play along with it lol

The only good experience I ever had when I was a security guard that was directly related to the job was when a little kid tried to warn me that Sirenhead was nearby. So of course, I responded to such a dire report with all the seriousness it deserved. And it was a very very serious matter!!

They were nice so I'm not trying to pick on them here!! And I simply don't get crushes on fictional characters so this really didn't affect me, but it makes me wonder how different that conversation would have gone if it were otherwise. :s (2/2)

I was talking to someone once about a shared interest in a game, we got to a character they like that I also thought was cool, but I guess I said something about the character that set off the need to "warn" me they were a non-sharing self-shipper? First I'd encountered or heard of that. (1/2)
