the timing of the cornell story breaking alongside pearl jam’s return has left me pretty on edge the last few days. i was assaulted at a pearl jam show a few years ago - not sexually, but, still - and it basically wrecked my love of the band. i’ve barely listened to them since it happened.

it never fails to amaze me when concerts can still leave me absolutely gobsmacked. this was my first bikini kill show, and i hope it won’t be my last. seeing any band that heralded in a genre is always A Lot. this was absolutely wild.

for those of you keeping up at home on our storm aftermath, our peninsula - our key attraction - is still closed and looks pretty damn devastated in the photos shared by cleanup crews. holiday weekend, perfect weather… and no beach/multipurpose path access. this is… really bad for my city.

i know we’re lucky the damage wasn’t worse, but i cannot express how upsetting it is to drive through your city after a horribly destructive storm. so many beautiful old trees are just… gone.

half my city is still without power this morning - we somehow never lost ours, and our block looks to be spared of the damage that i’m seeing in posts and on the local news now. this shit was brutal.

no sleep tonight. severe storm after severe storm rolling through since around 10pm. there’s been a ton of wind damage just a mile or so north of us, right here in the city. we seem to be lucky so far. haven’t lost power (yet), crossing fingers it stays that way.
