There go those famously reliable 'Labour sources' getting their mates in the press all foamed up over absolutely toss all as usual. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I'm not tempted to call an early election, Andy Burnham says
The prime minister told the BBC an early poll would throw the country into a "backward-looking process".

The main parties don't believe they can save the world. They don't even really believe there is a 'world' to save. They have resolved instead to steal as much copper wire out of the walls before someone changes the locks.

Ah come on now. Surely it's not too hard to believe that Tom was recently head-hunted for his expertise and stellar track record, rather than been stuffed into a plum role by the lads for services rendered.

There's nothing on earth that will sway me from the opinion that Rory Stewart is some strange alien/wolf hybrid in a skin suit who learned all his human behaviours from a West Side Story DVD.

Yeah. Perhaps expectations were a bit too high and it leaned a bit too heavy into the Gibb's pedigree that it seemed worse than it was. But something about that track just seems 'off' to me. Like a parody only, too close..

Hell yeah. I suppose it could have been coupled with performers with no track record, stripped it away and showed how weak the songwriting had got.

Why do you think, when it had been a pretty much cast-iron hit guarantee up to that point, that the public kinda viscerally recoiled from 'Sacred Trust' by One True Voice and it sort of ruined the whole thing? I just remember thinking it was terrible for no obvious reason.

Once again, the issue with AI is absolutely not the tech advance - human history is full of massive leaps - but the specific moment in time in which it is ocurring.

The obvious need for a full public inquiry into political funding and donations has existed for approximately 5 seconds longer than the absolute, rock solid cross-party consensus that there must never be one.

I dunno y'know? I don't remember Just Stop Oil's 'strong visuals' stretching to a paramilitary aesthetic and desperate attempts to conceal their identities. I'd argue that maybe gives some indication of their view on the moral certainty of their respective causes.

We seem so far away right now that this seems laughable. Our bullshit sensors are keen and attuned right up to the time when they're not. At that point - when we can't tell the difference - that's when the lights turn green and reality really will be a construct. And it won't be ours to control.

Wilbur Mudd @wilburmudd.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
We quickly need to recognise that the end purpose of AI is not to trick people into thinking fake things are real. It's ultimately being trained to convince us that real things are fake.

Can't help but feel that Jason Arday would still be with us if most of us had never heard his name. It was not a matter of 'public interest'. It was not our business and that the press decided it was, is a scandal far in excess of anything he was alleged to have done.

If we can all see the potential danger in creating a massive outflow pipe for the money generated by the World Cup, maybe we can reconsider the wisdom of that time our governments invited the horror of ever increasing profit required by private finance into ALL of humanity's absolute essentials.

Wes Streeting was supposed to be Labour's succession plan. 'Talented' in that vague, unsubstantiable way that only politicos pretend to understand and recognise, he's not yet had time to formulate a full set of fully flexible principles. And those he has formed thus far suck great big donkey balls

Yeah, They were the kind of thoughts that turned me round to the whole 'bulldoze it and start from scratch' attitude that's currently alienating me from pretty much everyone and everything. 😀 Less a loss of fight, than realising there was never anything worth fighting for in the first place.

Did they think it was a doomed movement or an existential threat? Maybe neither. Maybe both. They loudly proclaimed the former, while their actions evidenced the latter. All their performative ignorance and weaponised incompetence since has been in some way connected.

This is 100% the issue here. Not pouting cos we never got PM Corbyn, but utterly raging that all of this *extends arm into the distance* is in some way a consequence of the extreme and bitterly unhinged gatekeeping that simply couldn't allow whatever would be, to be.

The year is 2038 and Jess Phillips issues her latest resignation letter - she's nine for nine now, but in a twist worthy of Rod Serling, the leader she has 'front-stabbed' this time.. Is herself.
