Best unsung Elites in Halo: - Chak 'Lok (welcomes you to his tower, polite) - Gek 'Lhar (bald as hell)

Chak 'Lok from Halo Infinite. He is an alien with four mouths, gilded in gold armour.

Gek 'Lhar from Halo 4: Spartan Ops. He wears blue armour but no helmet, making him appear bald.

A while ago I saw this image from Baskin Robbins to promote a Lunar Cheesecake ice cream flavour. I wondered what it was about. This was shot for a promotion with Men in Black 3, and a marketing blog said this hand prop was actually used in the movie. They didn't say where. I found him in the movie.

Baskin Robbins promotional image for "Lunar Cheesecake". A green alien hand with conjoined fingers offers a bowl of green ice cream, the bowl is silver and looks futuristic.

Behind the scenes of the green alien hand. An artist is touching up the skin detail with a paintbrush.

Another angle of the promotional shot. Two green alien hands are seen, one holding the bowl of ice cream, the other holding a spoon, about to dig in.

A still from Men in Black III (2012). The green alien sits out of focus in the background, with a red circle around him. They resemble a classic grey or green alien, with large black eyes, wearing a brown coat. The green hands are not easily seen, but are indeed the same.

Finished the game. I'm so glad Sonic team learned how to do boss fights in modern times. These ones were rough.

Here's a direct comparison between first and final. I could clean up the line between the two colours to further enhance it, but for now it works.

Jet the Hawk from Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic games. A detail around his eyes is quite pixelated and does not look good.

Jet the Hawk from Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic games. The detail around his eyes is finally smooth and looks decent enough to present.

Then it occurred to me that I could simply blur this upscaled texture to possibly get around this. I did, and this is the result. It looks a hell of a lot better than I'd hoped, and I'll probably be working with this for the project. Simple, stupid, but effective.

Miss Brie Cheese @wikimemia.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

I'm working with Jet's model from Rio 2016. His texture is pretty low-res, and this eyeliner-like detail looks especially bad if I see him close-up. I increased the size of the texture, which made the detail smoother, but added artifacts that were distracting.

Jet the Hawk from Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic games. The same detail around his eyes is now smoother, but looks jagged at the same time.

"Doilus Stage?"
"What"

I've been learning Blender! I made this after about a month of learning. Lots of neat issues to solve but for my first little animation piece I'm very happy with it.
