Due to how the Nintendo Channel was originally programmed in 2007, we only have the original two gender options. We understand this doesn't work for everyone, but sadly it's something difficult to change. We'll provide any updates if we manage to change it in the future.

We've moved our Wii Room assets to a brand new server today. This allows us to easily expand our storage, which was previously limited to 60GB!

0253

Maintenance is expected to last a maximum of 2 hours, although it may take longer. We'll keep you posted with any updates. Thank you for supporting WiiLink!

070

During maintenance, all WiiConnect24 and regional services will be unavailable, as well as our main DNS server. WiiLink Forum and WiiLink WFC will be unaffected by this maintenance, and will be available throughout.

180

WiiLink will be undergoing maintenance on August 8, 2026 at 4AM EDT to migrate our services to a new consolidated Docker stack. This will make WiiLink easier to maintain going forwards, as well as being easier to host.

1150

We will provide updates as we become aware of them.

0110

As typical with DDOS' in this community, this may be one of many looming. We kindly ask you all to be patient with us during this time.

WiiLink @wiilink.ca · 31/07/2026

At roughly 6:52PM EDT, WiiLink's production server by what seemed to be a Distributed Denial of Service Attack (DDOS). This caused most WiiLink services to be brought offline for about half an hour. Everything is now operational.

This month... a new team branch, the end of the patcher, new Wii Room content, teasers and more. The new issue of the WiiLink newsletter is now available!

Thank you for using the command line for 10 years! If you'd like to check it out before it is deprecated, you can still use it until the end date of September 30th.

1140

WiiLink @wiilink.ca · 20/07/2026

This marks the end of the command line patcher, which has been in use ever since 2016 with RiiConnect24. However, now that we have a patcher with a proper interface, it becomes more and more of a hassle to support two patchers at once. Thus, we decided to discontinue the command line.

1130

WiiLink @wiilink.ca · 20/07/2026

As of September 30th, 2026, the WiiLink Command Line Patcher will officially be discontinued. This will not affect any existing WiiLink installs, but from this date new WiiLink installs will have to be made with our new GUI patcher, which is currently the default option on our website.

Q. How quickly would I need to work? A. We're not too strict on deadlines, but at minimum we would appreciate finishing this by the end of the year.

070

Q. Is there a specific artstyle you're going for? A. There is, but that is for this specific project. If this goes well, we would like to potentially work with more artists in the future in different artstyles. For this purpose, we're purposefully not making this information public.

170

Q. Will I be paid for the work? A. Yes.

150

Q. How much creative freedom will I have in this? A. We have some ideas of what we want out of this project, and we would need to be happy with the final product to approve it. However, the guidelines mostly being followed and us being happy with the results, is the main thing that matters.

170

Q. What is this for? A. This project requires us to have a new character designed. We have some ideas in mind, but we would like to work together with the artist to create a design we're happy with.

170

We've gotten a couple questions both publicly and privately, so we'll take this moment to clarify some things! 🧵

1111

We'll have applications open until August 4, 2026, so please take your time!
