3/3 Nolan's Odysseus knowingly sends a young soldier to his death for the greater good. This Sinon is absent from Homer. Borrowed from Virgil's 𝘈𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘪𝘥, he turns Odysseus into a figure of transition – leaving a disintegrating Europe behind and sailing towards an imperial promise emerging in the West.
