If there’s no supply gap, that means with increased immigration the housing stock should be able to absorb them. But the housing stock is on the upper end of the income scale which is where profit is. That is why there’s an affordability problem not a housing stock problem
Because the rate of construction has kept up with demand, Edmonton is the only metropolitan area in Canada on track to restore affordability to prepan-demic levels by 2036, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) latest housing supply report, which characterizes Alberta's capital city as having no measurable supply gap.

This is frightening and will set a precedence that aims at removing mostly racialized people from American society Funny thing is these efforts have unintended consequences such as Melania possibly facing the same fate
Wall Street Journal post on Threads: The Trump administration's investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar is aimed at building a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her, according to U.S. officials and other people familiar with the probe.

Separatists aren’t smart enough to realize when they’re being played www.hilltimes.com/2026/10/14/s...
As an aside, those separatists really aren't sending their brightest. These guys think they will become
independent by becoming the 51st state. What clownery. The U.S. would neither allow Alberta to become a sovereign nation, nor give it statehood.
Instead, the province will end up like Puerto Rico disenfranchised. Look how long the District of Columbia has tried to become a state, and it hasn't happened yet.Erica Ifill’s Hill Times column entitled: “Separatists' not-so-strange bedfellows”
Given U.S. far-right figures' political interference proclivities, power, and influence, Albertans should be careful with whom they get into bed.
Billionaire Elon Musk is also a major backer of far-right politics, and he has turned his sights to Canada, writes Erica Ifill. White House photograph by Molly Riley

New from me. I wrote about the immigration questions on Alberta’s referendum ballot. www.hilltimes.com/2026/10/14/s...
CALGARY-Why are there immigration questions for Alberta's Oct. 19 referendum on separating from Canada? The answer is that immigration is the cornerstone of global far-right movements integrated into the Alberta separatist push. Immigration acts as a cognitive baseline and the connective tissue intended to argue separatism through a specific lens, and that lens is a fascist and racist one.

Honestly, these sound like reasonable demands
From Palestinian Youth Movement’s Twitter: We call on the mayor to:
1. Shut down all illegal sales of stolen Palestinian land in New York City
2. Use every means available to him to prevent military cargo shipments to Israel from JFK airport
3. Dismantle NYPD's Strategic Response Group and fire Jessica

The 2006 execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, which took place at the former military intelligence headquarters in Baghdad, was also controversial, particularly after covertly filmed footage of the execution spread online. The government described the release of the footage as a
"mistake."

It’s fascinating watching a colonialist get colonized. Gotta say this is textbook colonialism/imperialism and neither the Canadian public nor the media and political structures recognize it as such. They actually don’t have the background to resist

I been telling y’all this
This is how I can tell that we were being conditioned: instead of taking accountability for the fact that she might be leading her party towards a political buzzsaw with this referendum vote, she decided to double down by attacking immigrants. She tweeted: "Temporary residents contribute about $150-million to our tax base
annually, yet the cost to provide services for them is over $1-billion. It's simply not fair to Alberta taxpayers." She provides zero sources for these numbers, yet we are supposed to take them as facts. Blaming immigrants or minorities of some kind are where the conservatives naturally turn when things are going wrong for them. This displacement of blame allows Smith to refocus attention in an attempt to obscure the fact that she has been privatizing Alberta health care and education throughout her premiership, thereby defunding public services for private interests.

The NDP has been elected in 47 ridings, with the Conservatives elected in 44. The B.C. Greens have won two seats. 47 is the magic number needed for a majority.

And yet the article mentioned racialized communities twice.
Experts say CIJA's demands would have troubling implications for the rights of naturalized Canadian citizens, especially those from Muslim and racialized communities."Evidently, these proposals seek to expand arbitrary surveillance and impose dramatic penalties on Muslim, racialized, and marginalized communities, as these are the communities where you find the highest number of naturalized Canadians, and who already face disproportionate policing and systemic discrimination."

The label of antisemite is not about criticizing the Israeli government, it’s about whether or not you believe Israel is committing a genocide and if they have a right to. If you reject that Israel is committing genocide but criticize Netanyahu then you’re fine

In addition, trade negotiations fall within Cabinet confidences which means they are protected by law. Only when the deal is finalized can it be released. The Conservatives know this but are trying to gin up discontent to score political points: www.canada.ca/en/privy-cou...
Yes, trade negotiations are included in cabinet confidence if the information reveals the internal deliberations, positions, or strategies discussed by Cabinet Ministers. Under Canadian law, while day-to-day administrative files are not protected, any record that reveals what was, is, or will be discussed regarding a trade negotiation by the federal Cabinet is strictly protected.

Arday was initially accused of plagiarising another academic's work for his PhD thesis. He denied the accusations, and an investigation by Liverpool John Moores University this year upheld its decision to award him a PhD.
When allegations surfaced in the UK media in July, Cambridge said it had investigated the claims and found no wrongdoing, describing Arday as the victim of a "vile smear campaign to undermine his credibility"

Funny to me that there are white professors at elite British universities out here straight up plagerizing and making up data yet they aren’t scrutinized. The idea that he was over-promoted when white ppl have been over-promoted as a standard reeks of racism The differences are astounding
