We explored Frye Cove County Park on the next peninsula over from ours today. Looks like a possible option for kayak launching next year. This is a beautiful perspective, they have that work boat out in the Eld Inlet, with Mount Rainier, the largest mountain in the lower 48 for a background.

More like “ouch” because we can only safely access the outer perimeter around the existing lawn. So as we remove these, we are leaving a 4’ border of them so we have just as much linear feet of blackberry access. Plenty left for us, deer and birds!

This Boomer was out driving her New Holland “Boomer” tractor loader tonight. That little thing is a beast! We bought it at auction recently to reclaim some of the hidden 5 acres that our new (to us) house is situated on. Blackberry bushes took over at least 3 acres since 1998 when it was built.

Had a nice hike around Tumwater Falls / Olympia, WA area this afternoon. The Chinook salmon are migrating upstream, and there were some spectacular jumping going on up the falls and fish ladders.

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks of being in our new home on 5 acres here in Olympia, WA. Little did we know, the property will be shared by this beautiful Doe and here babies. Ww saw her mate in the front yard hhe other day. They love munching on the still green blackberries.
