I can't tell if this is more or less pathetic than the origin of the equivalent Vancouver Canucks tradition: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Towel_P...
A screenshot of the wikipedia page 'Towel Power', that reads: "The tradition started in the 1982 Campbell Conference Finals when Vancouver played the Chicago Blackhawks. During game two of the series, head coach Roger Neilson waved a white towel on the end of a hockey stick in a mock surrender after being upset with the officiating. Neilson was ejected and the Canucks lost 4–1."

My travel this summer would be way more impressive if it wasn't all in the service of sitting in rooms talking about what words mean.

"Sorry, Clifford, we don't have a page for you. Would you prefer to read one about your least charitable interpreter?"
The SEP search results for the name 'William Kingdon Clifford'. There is no page on William Kingdon Clifford. Instead, the top result is William James

My erstwhile travel companion, the space Michaelangelo backpack I bought from the kid section at Target on my first day in the US, has finally broken on this, the day I leave the US for the foreseeable future. Probably not an omen.

Honestly the most enjoyable part of the Oscars was the ten solid minutes it took my partner and I to figure out what the hell was going on in this photograph:

It may have been unwise for me to buy another philodendron so close to the move, but in my defense, look at it. Look at those leaves.

This thread is going to be all vain reposting, sorry.
A tweet by me that reads:
Shakespeare comedies ranked by how good it is if your pilot says their titles:
Good:
 As you like it
All's well that ends well

Ok:
Much ado about nothing
The Winters Tale
Measure for Measure

Bad:

Also, it's not like twitter was even rewarding my best material anymore.

Basically, it's a note-taking program. Less basically, it's a locally-stored vault system that lets you organize your notes into a wikipedia-like interconnected archive, all in non-proprietary markdown files. See the picture for an network graph of my curent D&D campaign (forgive the gamer colours)
A really cool (if gamer-coloured) network graph of what looks like a really complicated D&D campaign. The red nodes are PCs, blue are locations, yellow are NPCs from one faction, et cetera

At this point I am no stranger to the long s, but every so often I still find it in a new word and get a sensible chuckle out of it. The feminary. Gonna hand this one over to the anti-woke-universities campaigners, free of charge.

All the computers in the Center for Philosophy of Science have this picture set as their desktop background (for some extremely mysterious reason). The file's name? 'Oppo.jpg'
