I haven't been checking my social feeds lately. Mainly signing on to check DMs. And it has felt really good. I'll take this quick moment to be openly thankful for paid bills, food in my mouth, and general good health. I hope you're doing just as well if not better. 🤗

Just a thought that the #MarvelSnap "being banned" thing opens up a really good opportunity for #Deadpool to break the 4th wall and talk about it. Just throwin' it out there, @seconddinners.bsky.social. #voiceactor

Trying to be less “chronically online,” and it seems to be helping my brain. I check my DMs for urgent things if you need me. Or if you have my number, you can reach me that way, too. Keep doing great things, and I hope we talk soon. 😊

I can't stop thinking about this.

I keep an active subscription to VDC because occasionally, a gold nugget will come through. But when managed project services *privately invites* me to read for something where the specs call for "a seasoned, upper middle class 51-year-old Canadian woman," it really makes me rethink that decision.

By now, you've watched non-English content. Though you don't understand, you know that it's a language. @jabberdelton.bsky.social is a voice actor who specializes in creature work - creatures who communicate in their own language. Come explore a skill and add to your arsenal of tools as an actor. 💪

"Oh, boy, a night session! I sure hope there isn't a lot of screaming." "Hey, Alex! Thanks for hopping on! We have a few lines then pretty much 55 minutes of really brutal deaths we need efforts and screams for. Kthx!" 💀

Went down a YT rabbit hole and think I might just start cranking out a bunch of easy pop-punk songs because music is one of the few things I like doing that isn't tied to making money in any way.

I feel like I don't book as much commercial work as I used to, but I recently booked two commercial things, and I'm super thankful for that.

Walked roughly 9 miles yesterday around D*sneyl*nd, and my legs HURT. Not having an "on my feet all day" job has made me soft.

Did you know? I became a board member of QueerVox this year! We just premiered our Range in Gender educational series with a class on Vocal Empowerment--defining and demonstrating stereotypical US masc/femme vocal placements to help actors build foundations for their personal and character voices.

I love the idea of using services like Buffer to cross-post so I don't actively have to check things like Twitter as often, but why is it so expensive? Is the tech that runs it really that costly?

Audiobook Narrators: Tips on slowing down? I'm always reading copy at breakneck speed, and I find myself actively trying to keep in mind to slowww dowwwwn. Any techniques, tricks, and tips are appreciated. Tried a metronome. Might be doing it wrong, but it doesn't seem to work.

I'm normally at my computer doing business-y things by now, but I'm taking some extra lounge time this morning. Learning to rest is hard. But I'm trying to remember that it's okay to spend time "sharpening the axe."

In yet another wave of AI making lives worse, I am happy to say that I am doing some media-design contract work with a company who is explicit about gen AI *not* being used in the materials. It's hard to see in all the darkness, but there is a bit of hope that still exists.

I booked a few really cool/fun well-paying things, and they "released," but I can't announce them for surprisingly good reasons. So I'll take this time to say that things are going pretty well right now in all facets of my life. That's it. That's my announcement.

Already mentally drained from having to think about dedicating a little extra time here and there to this platform AND threads in preparation for Twitt-- err, X's inevitable collapse.
