osu players deleting their accounts forever only to want to play again 2 weeks later lmao "[...] hoping the deletion was not fully processed and that it could still be recovered." what do these guys think **permanent** account deletion means?

i legit need to turn on my hotspot to use the internet past 11pm. i think my ISP is bottling my speeds. don't let the download speed fool you; web pages either take minutes to load or don't load at all

I found this to be the root issue: a deserialization routine which simply logs the error and returns null. Setting a config value to null removes it from memory. So, according to Bukkit's YAML spec, there is no way to know if a config failed to load. Only the end user can by looking at a log file.

A deserialization routine which surrounds the core logic in a try-catch block, logs any caught exceptions in the catch block, and ultimately returns null if deserialization failed.

A snippet of a config value setting routine which checks if the value is null, in which case will remove it from the internal map.

I hate Bukkit plugin dev sometimes. My plugin has several "modules", and I am testing what happens when a YAML config file fails to load. I was going crazy trying to figure out why my code designed to catch exceptions wasn't catching this one. Note the lack of a "Failed to load module" message.

A snippet of Java code which loops through a list of Module objects, checks if they're enabled, and tries to load them. If the loading of a module fails, the catch block will trigger, unloading and disabling the module.

Snippet of a log file showing the attempted loading of the "warp" module, followed by a deserialization-related exception message, followed by the loading of the "nickname" and "home".

Lastly, I got to cosplay as 9S. We didn't have a NieR cosplay gathering this year, and I couldn't make it to the "My Fandom Doesn't Have a Gathering" gathering, but I ran into a few other 9S's and 2B's, and a few more recognized me. The sword was annoying as heck to carry around, though.

Some of my haul this year. This is the first year I didn't get anything from the dealer's hall--only from the swap meet and the artist's alley. I'm super stoked about the BUTAOTOME CD and the custom Mint hoodie.

Apparently we had a semi-viral incident with Hatsune Miku and feet water? I saw it mentioned in another unrelated Discord. I wasn't there in-person, but everyone was talking about it the next day. Fanime is DEFINITELY gonna be cracking down on ParkCon next year lol, it's getting a bit too crazy.

This was the first year I attended the swap meet as well. I will definitely be going next year. There were so many cool niche items that you could never see in the dealer's hall.
