Great start to Election Day with my parents, my sister, and my team! I’ve been saying “ABZ” — Anyone But Zohran. I’m happy to share who I did vote for: 1. Me 2. Cuomo 3. Myrie 4. Adams (Adrienne, not Eric) 5. Stringer

I have a simple message to NYC parents: Our Department of Education is ripping you off — and lying about it. We know what it takes to fix our schools, but to make it happen, we need a mayor who doesn’t owe the @uftnyc.bsky.social a thing. My op-ed in @nypost.com:
nypost.com
NYC’s failing schools need a mayor who will take on the selfish teachers union
Repeating the same tired slogans and tinkering around the margins won’t fix our broken education system — but the UFT’s self-interest makes real reform impossible.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social can talk all he wants about what he would do as mayor, but he still hasn't explained why he wanted to "dismantle" the "wicked" NYPD. Does he disavow his previous comments? Once again, here are the receipts:

Why is it so hard to get the basics right, like filling a pothole or getting the trains to run on time? The truth is: the city isn’t working. But it can. I am running for mayor to fix what’s broken and deliver real results for all New Yorkers. Fuel this mission by donating today— bit.ly/3SExjtf

NYC Affordability: "Most of the people on this stage have called for freezing the rent. I want to do one better and drop rents by 20%. To do that, we must unleash the private sector by building a lot more housing, reforming our zoning laws and getting rid of red tape that discourages investment."

Electing @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social will put the anti-police, anti-Israel and anti-capitalist Democratic Socialists of America in power at City Hall. I am proud to be the only candidate in this race using my platform and resources to warn New Yorkers about the dangers Mamdani poses.

Socialists are at the gate. NYC’s future is on the line. Zohran Mamdani wants to defund the police and push extreme policies. I will protect public safety and keep City Hall focused on results.

We discussed our shared support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom, and my plans to help small businesses like theirs thrive and grow. Businesses like Veselka are a lifeblood of our great city. I look forward to returning for the delicious borscht. #SlavaUkraini

Every night that homeless people are sleeping in our parks, streets and subways is a stark reminder of the failure of our city government – to help people who are suffering and to help New Yorkers feel safer and more secure.

We know how to build apartment complexes and solar panel arrays and train lines. The problem is the rules and the laws and political cultures that govern construction in many blue states.”
000
Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 11/03/2025
This is the policy failure haunting blue states. It has become too hard to build and too expensive to live in the places where Democrats govern. It is too hard to build homes. It is too hard to build clean energy. It is too hard to build mass transit. The problem isn’t technical:

We need to be the party of abundance – of growth and prosperity, that can get big things done, fast! Here’s Ezra Klein with an op ed in Sunday’s NYT on how Democrats, while claiming to be fighting for working families, are actually screwing them:

PART 3: I don’t want to criminalize mental illness or homelessness – it’s a tragedy, not a crime – but this is totally unacceptable."

PART 2: He’s clearly unable to care for himself so needs to be involuntarily committed – that should be the standard, not the current one of immediate physical danger to himself or others. And no-one should be allowed to sleep in our public spaces overnight – or any other time of day.

PART 1 "I just saw this on the subway in the middle of the day this week. This man needs help – and our city’s failure to help him (and many others like him) is wrecking quality of life in this city. For example, I talk to so many people, especially women, who won’t ride the subway anymore.

Every New Yorker deserves to live in a safe city, free from harassment and violence, yet we’re going in the wrong direction at an alarming rate. Hate crime incidents between 2019 and 2024 grew by nearly 60%, across every major category, both in the number of hate crime complaints as well as arrests.
000
Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 10/03/2025
And it worked: “Developers dumped almost 50,000 rental units on the city in 2023 and 2024, according to Fannie Mae data. That represented a 14% increase in the supply, the biggest on a percentage basis for any major US metro area.

Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 8: He’s also been soft on Hamas, jumping in early in the war to demand a ceasefire that would’ve left the terrorists unharmed after their Oct. 7, 2023 atrocities. Nor has he spoken out against the left’s growing public antisemitism in the months since.

Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 7: And it’s not just his long record on crime and public safety that Lander needs to live down.

Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 6: but he as a City Council member still voted to decriminalize public urination and drinking booze in public, supported not prosecuting fare beaters or shoplifters and backed sanctuary-city insanity including kicking ICE off of Rikers Island.

PART 5: Brad can talk about waking up to the “challenges” now obvious “in gun violence and mental health and homelessness, in retail theft and hate violence,”

Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 4: Tisch implicitly answered that vow Wednesday morning with a barn-burner of an address making it plain that progressives like Lander are a huge part of the problem on crime.
000
Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 3: Now that fighting crime and disorder is a top issue for voters, Lander rolled out a public safety plan that includes bumping police hiring to 35,000 and vowing to keep NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, if he wins election.
000
Whitney Tilson @whitneyformayor.com · 02/03/2025
PART 2: Excerpt: Ultra-progressive city Comptroller Brad Lander, who once fought to defund the police, claims to have seen the light now that he’s running for mayor; he’s also offering a great price on a bridge down by Front Street.
