Being pressured about fursuits while I'm stressed and recovering from hand surgery really sucks. I'd like to be seen as human who needs healing, and not just a commodity. I want to give my hand a chance to recover, or this surgery was pointless $$$ spent. Is this too much to ask? :/

A left palm wraped in bandages after surgery. Being down one hand for ~2 weeks has been stressful enough.

Solar heater was melting plastic without water flowing! The new pump relay -CLICK- is very satisfying.

A 12v modem power supply feeding a relay off the spa pump, so that the solar heaters only work when water is flowing.

At Burning Man, I’ve played in the Burning Band for years. Presenting the Band’s Furry Division, me and Pistachio (@whiteyfawks.bsky.social) on the playa. :) #FursuitFriday 📷: @galumphybear.bsky.social

Anyone in CO know of a ski shop that can do crosscut texture? Most offer 45°+linear

Was very cozy. Rain is becoming more common, and gives me a fun new challenge for next years steucture design.

I have no idea what we're playing, but it'll be fun! #fursuitfriday

A dusty donkey fursuiter preparing to leave for a gig at burningman. A trombone is ideal to play when you have hooves.

Plenty, which thankfully we get here. Probably putting them ontop of the deck when I get a mounting rack.

Pistachio @whiteyfawks.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Unsure yet. The panels are used for Burningman, this is sort of an alternative use for them the rest of the year. The tub consumes ~7Kw per day without them.

010

Pistachio @whiteyfawks.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Even the wee baby panels are helping!

Pistachio @whiteyfawks.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Yus!! It actually worked! +2°F per hour! Next test will be so see if the solar siphon works, take it completely off-grid. #solarpunk 🌞

Baseline of 97f, turned off the heater, let's see if it goes up with solar only, or at least maintains the temp. ^-^

Hottub heater "egg" showing 97f, the pump is shown as running, and 120v heater turned off.

Pistachio @whiteyfawks.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Solar hottub heater! 525w of test randomness, 800w total when I sort out where to put my panels. Uses stock quick connects on the egg for maintenance too.

A countertop covered with a towel, and many electronics being cleaned of playa and mud.

Big same. Never liked it, or want to own something I didn't like either.

It gets a little gritty in the dust storms, but licking the slide helps! Originally it was found at a burner bar, hanging on a wall after an art car ran it over. Gifted to me my first year with band, and played it like a bugel! Bent slide/tubes got fixed. Have been using it ever since!
