One of the arguments I often hear for why coaches from women's teams are not hired by men's teams is "men's sports is different". But if that's really true, "is different" works both ways and should be just as much a disqualifying reason for coaches from men's teams to be hired for women's teams.

Voter fatigue has never really been a thing for the NHL. It never comes up in conversations about the top awards. Wayne Gretzky won the Hart 8 years in a row (his first 8 in the league). Bobby Orr won the Norris 8 years in a row. More recently, Nicklas Lidström won the Norris 7 of 9 years.

You are entitled to your feelings, but that doesn't mean you read the joke correctly. The joke isn't "ha ha it's funny that men don't care". It's the opposite of that. Think of all the jokes about Trump. People making those jokes aren't saying, "ha ha, it's funny the things he does". Same here.

The joke is neither flippant nor juvenile. The point of the joke is to ridicule men who pretend they would do something when the strong evidence is that they would not. The point of the joke is to make a serious comment about how little men do to stop rape.

Over the last 10 years, 22% of NHL players were playing for Canadian based teams. Over the last 10 years 24% of players who were finalists for the Hart, Norris, or Vezina were playing for Canadian based teams. This is strong evidence that Canadian based teams have no trouble getting top players.

People who have watched "The Voice" when Blake Shelton was on it will recall many many times someone auditioned with a popular song that wasn't country and he was the only judge who didn't know the song. There is nothing odd about people knowing genres they like and not others.
