Lots of interesting data here from the professional editor crowd re: AI use. The splits here are interesting, especially given that when I started naming specific use cases there was 90%-95% agreement once terms were defined. Super interesting.

About a hundred (of some 700 conference participants) in attendance at the AI ethics talk today. I really hope we can help folks think carefully about where and how they use/don't use AI tools—and, most importantly, to be transparent at all turns. I just read this in a single sitting. It's dark, nasty, upsetting, and most of all, a powerful exploration of the broken way our society handles homelessness. This is an important horror book, but be warned: it doesn't hold back on ANYTHING.

A really cool thing about running Whisper House Press on my own: I read every word with which every author trusts me and I get to learn about that person from what they write. I always say that human empathy is the reason for stories, from my perspective, and I get so much out of this whole process.
