Baby skunk tax
A nighttime security camera capture of a residential front porch. Three black-and-white striped baby skunks are exploring the concrete ground in the foreground. One skunk is near the left edge, and the second is positioned near the center, sniffing the ground next to a large stone turtle statue, and the third is behind the turtle, but you can see his tail. Behind them is a patterned outdoor area rug. In the background, a white wooden bench is decorated with a red, white, and blue cushion, a small American flag, and a gnome wearing a patriotic hat.

Being able to watch the World Cup, outside, in June, in Dallas is bliss.
A wide shot of an outdoor, gravel-surfaced patio or beer garden where a crowd of people is gathered to watch a soccer match on a large screen mounted to a brick building. Patrons are casually dressed and seated at long wooden picnic tables and black metal chairs. Overhead, string lights are suspended across the viewing area, and folded yellow patio umbrellas are visible on the left. In the foreground, a person wearing a light pink hoodie sits in a chair, holding the leash of a small, fluffy black-and-tan dog standing on the gravel.

It's Kenzi's 10th birthday! I've been singing to her to the tune of "Happy Birthday Lisa" all morning. She's weird, she attacks my feet when I get dressed, is scared of her own toots, and is a perfect baby princess in every way.
Kenzi (a medium-sized brindle dog with white, spotted front paws and a graying muzzle) rests on a light gray dog bed with white piping. She is looking directly at the camera. Her favorite toy, a small red tomato, sits between her front paws, and a plush blue and yellow donut toy lies on the tan carpet nearby to the right.
A close up of Kenzi showing her graying muzzle and white, black-spotted paws resting over the edge of a gray quilted blanket or furniture cover. She is looking slightly to the left of the camera. The background is softly blurred, showing a light blue or teal cabinet with glass paneled doors.Kenzi sleeps soundly on her back inside a round, plush, off-white dog bed. The dog is completely upside down with her pale belly exposed and all four legs pointing up in the air, showing off her white, black-spotted paws. The tiny tip of her pink tongue is sticking out of its mouth. Blep

(chuckles) I'm in danger.
A news broadcast weather map titled "SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK" for a region in North Texas, spanning from 3 PM to 9 PM.
A male meteorologist (Pete Delkus) in a light blue shirt and yellow tie stands on the right, gesturing toward a color-coded risk map.

The map uses a scale from 1 (Marginal/Green) to 5 (High/Magenta), with the following risk zones highlighted:
Level 4 (Moderate/Red): Centers over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and extends north to Gainesville and Sherman.
Level 3 (Enhanced/Orange): Surrounds the red zone, covering cities like Graham, Mineral Wells, Paris, and Tyler.
Level 2 (Slight/Yellow): Covers western and southern outskirts including Abilene, Stephenville, and Hillsboro.
Level 1 (Marginal/Green): Located on the far western edge near Coleman and Ballinger.

A text box in the upper left warns of Baseball+ size hail, 60+ mph wind gusts, and isolated tornadoes.
Major interstates (I-20, I-30, I-35, and I-45) are visible, providing geographic context for the storm's path.

Honestly, I hope it's these guys.
A composite image featuring Ignignokt and Err, the pixelated 8-bit Mooninite characters from the animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, superimposed on a photograph of the moon's rocky, barren surface. Ignignokt, the large green blocky character on the left, has a deadpan expression, while Err, the smaller magenta character on the right, looks distinctly angry. Both characters are raising their pixelated middle fingers.

It's #Iditarod time! Ok, #UglyDogs, I've got something fun for you. I have about 40 boxes of these vintage Iditarod trading card sets. If you want one or a few, email me at whiplashchick@whiplashchick.com and I'll send them your way.
A box of "1992 Limited Edition Collector Cards" for the "Iditarod Sled Dog Race" sits on a black desk mat in front of a brightly lit RGB mechanical keyboard. Surrounding the 110-card box are four separate stacks of the trading cards. The top cards visible show a musher celebrating with sponsors' banners, a person standing by a sled labeled "The Dog Sled," a portrait of a bearded man in a fur parka labeled "1984 Champion," and a close-up of a husky dog named "O.B." All the individual cards feature a blue border with yellow stars along the top and a yellow caption box at the bottom.

My birthday gift to myself. A nice stack of odd cards to rip. Allen & Ginter is always fun. The fact there was a Dune hobby box was something I couldn't pass up. The Game of Thrones one has guaranteed relics. And I'll always support Indycar.
A collection of sealed trading card boxes and packs arranged on a wooden table. The assortment includes a large "Game of Thrones: The Great Houses" box, a Topps "Dune" trading card box, a box and individual pack of 2025 Topps "Allen & Ginter" baseball cards, and a Parkside "Indy 500" box featuring an illustration of milk bottles.

Last weekend, I redid my living area. I'm fully in my old lady era. A lazy boy directly in front of the (too loud) tv. Most importantly, I gave the couch over to the dogs. Oh, and the bitch tree is in holiday mode.
A cozy living room scene featuring a brindle dog sleeping on a sofa covered in a grey protector and a wolf-themed blanket. The room is decorated with a lighted artificial bitch tree, beach artwork, and several Baby Yodas in the foreground.

The bitch tree needs more critters. I think it's time to change to the festive colored lights, too.
An indoor, light-up decorative tree with white branches, resembling a birch tree. The branches are adorned with numerous small, warm white LED lights. The tree is decorated with several small, hanging animal ornaments, including a fox, on the left, an opossum near the center, a unicorn with a rainbow mane near the top, and a skunk on the right. At the base of the tree, a dark bottle holds a bouquet of dried lavender flowers. The tree is positioned in front of a window with white blinds.

I love seeing new critters on my "game camera." I'm used to the cats and possum friends and the occasional raccoon or rare fox. But who is this random bird?
A black and white security camera image of an unknown bird in my flower bed. The bird is small-ish with speckled feathers, a thin pointy beak, and long legs.

Here they are. With a bler cameo, too.
A silver lighter with extensive scroll work in the shape of a Knight's helmet/head sits to the left of an ashtray with a working roulette wheel in the bottom. The ashtray edges are copper colored and sort of ornate between the cigarette rests.

They both sit on a dark brown bookshelf, in front of assorted books stacked on their sides.

#MayThe4th
There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this: Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this: the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire’s authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this: try.

Kenzi thinks she should have just a little bite of my cinnamon twisty donut. Bonus: my Pepé tattoo.
Kenzi's brown face, showing some graying around the muzzle, is the focus of the image, and she is looking lazily at the camera. Her ear is folded against her head, and her dark nose is prominent. Her head is resting on my arm. My Pepé tattoo is visible on my left forearm.

I did not make any hasty decisions, but I did pet a bunch of good puppies.
This is Pipo. A 9 month old, light brown Shepard mix who will be a very large boy when he grows up. He's sitting like a very good boy and is wearing a blue and black "Adopt Me" bandana.A little pup named Fang is standing up against a playpen wall. He has the softest white body with greyish brown markings on his head and face. At least 3 people are trying to pet him in this picture. A pale brown puppy named Krueger is held by his foster. His right ear is standing up and his left is flomped over. His soulful eyes are looking right at the camera. He is very fuzzy and soft and his meaty right paw is laying across the foster's chest.

Recently, I had a memory of a book from my childhood. It told a mystery with puzzles you had to solve with amazing illustrations. Then yesterday, my mom randomly came home from my cousin's house with said book. It's called The Eleventh Hour. I had given it to my grandmother for Easter.
The front cover of The Eleventh Hour by Graeme Base. It's covered with animals dressed in costumes because they are going to a fancy party. The first page of The Eleventh Hour features an elephant sitting at a desk, facing away from us. He's wearing a yellow shirt and blue pants and his desk and office are messy. There's the main text at the bottom and then text and codes around the border of the page.In the back of The Eleventh Hour, there was a sealed section of pages. It was called "The inside story," and had all the answers to the riddles and puzzles. The inscription I wrote inside the book reads, "Dear Nana, Happy Easter. Love, Lindsay XOXO." My handwriting is only slightly better now than then (mid 90s maybe?).

Day ? Update There are now two water delivery systems. The original gravity bowl and a filtered, recirculating bowl. Yellow dog (and sometimes Kenzi) uses the gravity one. Cali and Kenzi mainly use the fancier one because that's the kind of dogs they are.
On the left is a white, two tired dog water bowl. On the right is a gravity fed bowl with a clear jug feeding a dark blue basin. Both are on a hardwood floor, on a grey, patterned mat.
