Today marks the premiere of Sacrifice Zones, a meditation on Cancer Alley. It blends elements of violence and despair with glimpses of hope and a call to action across eleven sections embodying the parishes of Cancer Alley. Hear the Versipel Collective at the New Marigny Theater at 7:30.

What a thrill having Dr. Victor Correa-Cruz conduct the world premiere of Modal Flood Plainsong with the Southeastern Symphony Orchestra last night. Incredible gratitude in my heart!

Amazing show last night in New Orleans from Versipel New Music with guest Takae Ohnishi. One of five world premieres, The Taut Expressiveness of an Unfamiliar Ocean by Rick Snow opened the show and things ramped up from there. This work uses MIDI controllers to perform the resonances of sculptures.

Reminder, you don’t have wait until #BandcampFriday to buy music and support yr favorite musician. The cut Bandcamp takes isn’t egregious, and, speaking from experience, it always means a lot when some buys your music. Maybe more so randomly.
