And I acknowledge I am in the minority opinion here. The IMDb and rotten tomatoes ratings bear out this is one of the strongest DC outings in a long long time. It’s just not what I hoped it would be.

I understand why they told the story of Stewart’s background. That doesn’t make it good or ok. It’s a morally bankrupt story. And John Stewart would not act the way he does in this series… in no part, no way. They should have created a new character if they wanted to ruin him like this.

That would be a hard no! The only thing they got right then was the casting. Snyder’s first Superman movie was awesome. The rest of it fell so short!

Finally, the very disturbing background for Stewart was just out of left field. Shooting an apple of the head of a child and acting like it was just teaching him to be brave is the most disturbing thing ive ever seen from James Gunn. It really makes me want to give up on the DCU all together!

Heavens knows DC has messed with their own lore repeatedly over the years. I do have a problem with them completely recharacterizing both Jordan and Stewart. Neither would act like this. Maybe Jordan when he was possessed… And Stewart would not just hookup with a stranger/someone’s wife.
