Cover of the soundtrack album from "The Pirate Movie" (1981), an EXREMELY loose adaptation of "The Pirates of Penzance." The stars, Kristy McNichol and Christopher Atkins, are smiling and wrapped in a Jolly Roger flag.

A stacked bar graph titled "Is truncating the Y-axis dishonest?" The y axis is labelled "Percent of respondents" and starts at about 90%. The "No" response is shown as about 5% but due to the truncation of the Y axis its bar appears to be the same size as the 95% "Yes" response bar.

Name a film with a Woman Director
VHS box cover of the 1931 German film "Mädchen in Uniform" directed by Leontine Sagan. Two young women are pictured in the black & white photo. The first is seated, wearing tights and a medieval-looking shirt and hat with a feather, holding a piece of paper, and looking off into the distance. The second is kneeling, with her hands on the other's legs, wearing a blouse with stripes and a white collar, and looking up to the other's face.

I only plugged it in for a few minutes
A JOKE I do not own or endorse the making of such a cable. It’s a 3-prong USA style AC power cord but the other end is terminated with an RJ-45 Ethernet plug.

Tonight's cocktail: Peat's Dragon. For the single malt, I used Évadé, a French single malt I bought in the airport on the way home from Normandy. The logo on the glass is that of Chemist Spirits of Asheville, NC. 🍸

The other thing is, it was relatively easy for me to sustain a faster pace (until my legs gave out around mile 28) than I normally do because I'm usually riding in a place with lots of hills, and this course was relatively flat. As a result... I may frame this one.

When I was a kid, my older brother had this wastebasket in his bedroom.
A brown wastebasket. At the top are the words "PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the Seal of the President. There are black & white headshots (or paintings) of various presidents, with their names and dates of office. Pride of place, in the center with the largest picture, was the then-current president, Richard M. Nixon, whose date was just "1969" because at the time he was still in office.

Post one (1) photo of a painting that you took with your very own hands. The photo, that is, not the painting.
Painting on a shop window in Bayeux, France. A cartoon soldier in a khaki uniform is smiling and holding up a newspaper with the headline "6 JUIN 1944 VICTOIRE." Several red poppies are included around the soldier & the paper. Near the bottom, what I assume is the artists' signature in white, "PASCAL & GÉNO"

I wouldn't call it "ugly," but the extremely utilitarian-looking tower built on to the UNC-Greensboro library in the 70s stood out quite a bit from the mostly-brick architecture of the rest of the main campus buildings.

Describe your bluesky account in a single image
An old picture from a kid's publication (Highlights Magazine maybe? It has that look). A boy in a striped shirt is facing to the left. He's face-palming and seems frustrated. The table he's seated at has notebook paper and a pencil. The caption says, "This is a grouchy old Don't Bee. He's never very happy." In the background is a cartoon bee and the words "DON'T BEE."

Also don't forget the Chigi Codex. The music is Ockeghem's mass "Ecce Ancilla Domini."
An opening from the Chigi Codex with Renaissance music for the mass "Ecce Ancilla Domini" accompanied by lots of colorful floral decorations. Each of the two pages has an inset in the upper left. The left-hand page is an annunciation. The right-hand features two people, one of which is kneeling, but I am not familiar enough to say what that scene depicts.
