Every year, in October, I attempt to watch at least 31 horror movies I haven't seen yet, between October 1st and October 31st. I usually end up exceeding my goal. That doesn't always mean I make wise choices. But its time. #31DaysOfHalloween26

For all of the defensive internet bros watching this week's Lanterns and thinking that Green Lantern has never deal with Earthborne race issues before, um . . .

Panels from Green Lantern #76, where an older Black man addresses Hal Jordan by saying: "I been readin' about you, how you work for the blue skins and how on planet someplace you helped out the orange skins and you done considerable for the purple skins. Only there's skins you never bothered with. The Black skins. I want to know, how come! Answer me that, Mr. Green Lantern."

Hal responds, "I can't."

Got to run my Curse of Strahd game for the first time in a bit. This was at my daughter's house, and we had flooding damage as did our daughter two weeks ago. We just got our water heater replaced, and she spent two weeks cleaning the carpet of her finished basement.

If you want to know why privitizing foundational services and deregulating, espeically at the same time, is bad, look at Disney theme parks or the WWE. Corporations are fine with pricing out whole economic strata if they think their price hikes will bring in enough money from the highest tiers.

I'm generally not a fan of preemptively not liking something, especially publically on social media, but given that the properties invovled have been foundational to me from the time I can remember anything . . . I would have been perfectly happy never seeing any kind of Marvel/Star Wars crossover.

I started playing Marvel Rivals again after a hiatus. I know, I'm an easily influenced mind that likes flashing things. I think one of the biggest hints for better play isn't even about any of the mechanics or the moves of the characters. Its people knowing the definition of the word vanguard.

No Spoilers! I have no idea how prevalent it actually is, because we all live in algorythm hell, but I've seen some negativity about X-Men '97 season 2. I think its probably due to more things than people just not liking the show on its face. Its hard to ignore the Beau DeMayo thing, however . . .

I really want to be more positive about things, but even when the administration seems to be at a record low even with their own base, the Supreme Court proves its still able to cause great harm with impunity, just like when they delivered several devastating rulings when Biden was president.

I think something that fundamentally broke in pop culture due to the pandemic is that something that shows up in a movie theater has to "prove" that it deserves to be released. And it can't prove that it deserves to be released by being entertaining, it has to have some bigger PURPOSE.

I'm going to risk a Star Wars opinion on social media. Its really had to claim that a franchise that has put out Ewok movies and the Ewok and Droid cartoons and the first Clone Wars movie in 2008 has "lost its way" by putting out a low stakes movie based on an TV series.

RPG Adventure Design Tip. Keep the scenarios objectives clear. Players engage more when they understand the goal, even if they don’t know how to reach it. Make a quest board, have a document they can reference, just give them something to help keep the Players on track. #DnD #TTRPG

Thanks to a recent discussion, I want to run a Spelljammer campaign with Nagpa flying around Wildspace in fortresses kind of like the old dwarven fortress ships, using a big purple crystal lifejammer helm that turns people into husks, deploying large animated clockwork horror corpses to raid worlds.

A twisted, spikey fortress, with lights all around its irregular form, with an almost crescent moon shaped pair of outcroppings and a pair of spires that look like twisted towers coming out of the top. It sits in a barren wastland, under a sky of storm clouds, with mountains in the distance that show the sun rising over them.

Mattel was really great about getting me a refund for my damaged Mantenna. They were going to send me a new one, but they didn't have him in stock. Once they okayed the refund, I went ahead and glued Mantenna's leg and foot back on. He's not as flexible now, but I can still put him in a display.

@flyingfox369.bsky.social The latest cubicle display is live. I thought I'd do an homage to the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie this time around. Everyone is from the trailer (even if you had to squint to see some of them). #MotU #Masterverse

Masters of the Universe Mastervers figures inside a purple fortress diarama cardboard backdrop. He-Man and Battle Cat are climbing up a ledge, Roboto and Teela are aiming weapons at Beast Man and Trap Jaw, Fisto is ready to punch Spikor, and two Skelcons are guarding a cell from which Mekaneck's head and neck are protruding.

On a raised platform, Skeletor sits on a throne inside a purple cardboard fortress diarama. Next to him Evil-Lyn aims her hand at He-Man and Battle Cat, who are climbing up a rise from the other section of the fortress. Tri-Klops is coming through a door, being met with force by Man-at-Arms.

A closeup of the purpule fortress diarama, where Spikor and two Skelcons are guarding a cell. Inside the cell is Mekaneck, with this head sticking out from between the bars.
