Join us for an evening conversation celebrating cycling in all its forms: from the school run to the daily commute. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just curious about getting on your bike more, this webinar brings together real perspectives on what it's like to cycle in Wexford today.

We'll be hearing from a local who recently made the leap from Wexford to Copenhagen (one of the world's great cycling cities) and exploring what that contrast reveals about infrastructure, culture, and how small changes can make a big difference. From navigating Irish roads as a commuter to cycling with kids and family, we'll talk honestly about the challenges, the joys, and what's possible.

We often hear comments of the Newtown Rd not being heavily used by bicycle riders.. 🤔Imagine if the council created a road that began and finished at either side of a field, how many drivers would use it? 🤔 Once it is added to & joined up, then we’ll see.. (Image via AI)

Sitting in the pub/café in the train station in Chester on the Welsh-English border and they have free bike locks for your bike while you eat/wait/travel. A great idea to encourage multi-modal travel. Something for our friends in @seontrack.bsky.social might be interested in too! #bike #train

WexBUG were happy to participate in the rally for safer roads this morning. The Love 30 Campaign advocates for a standard urban speed limit of 30kph. Research shows that this will reduce road deaths and injuries. Time for the promises of action on road safety to be prioritised. #Love30

This morning we hosted an experiential cycle with some of our local County Councillors and members of the Active Travel Team. We focused on safety, the importance of segregation, and future plans for the Active Travel Scheme. We’re grateful to Cllrs Kelly, Laffan, and Walsh for their engagement.

School St. #Wexford is now a one way street. In doing so, Wexford town became that little less cycle friendly, mandating a more circuitous route for people on bikes. WexBUG made a submission to allow bicycle contraflow here but unfortunately @wexfordcoco didn’t run with it. If it was France..👇

BREAKING 🚨 @wexfordcoco has been awarded €3.15M towards Greenway + Development. We are not 💯 sure what is planned for this € sum, beyond the SouthEast Greenway, at this stage. Hopefully we will see some other Greenway developments within the county 💜💛boundary soon 🤞

Speed limits will begin to be lowered on Irish roads from Friday 7 February, when default limits on rural roads fall from 80 to 60kmh This is one such road in Co#Wexford - 👇
