My dad came from Scotland as a junior school boys champion at 14. He played with George Cross a Maltese team. He was welcome. Didnt matter he wasnt Maltese his skills mattered. He played for Vic. He grew to love AFL after watching Coleman. His son won 2 Listons in the VFA grandson a brownlow.

Yep lost my son in law to a rare cancer he was 30. Only lived for 10 months after diagnosis. Left a baby boy only 7 months old. Nephew had brain cancer from age of 6 died at 19. Both had lots of courage never complained just got on with enjoying the time they had. It does suck.

Just been to the book launch of Lisa Wilkinson's book The Titanic Story of Evelyn the only Australian survivor. What a wonderful story Lisa has brought to life. I felt every emotion was rivetting. Loved it could read it again. There are many to admire and some to despise. Can recommend it.

I know someone who is in a wheelchair and says its the biggest rip off. He gets a carer to drive him to melb to visit friends. Gets holidays with carer along. Said he gets anything he wants. So obviously some loopholes. Heard a comment many are on it that shouldn't be given why it was introduced.

Its about right and wrong. No one needs to act like they are above the court by passing judgement. Up to courts to decide not the public. Its not left v right. War crimes are punishable not acceptable under any circumstance. What if this was an enemy soldier? Is it ok then? No it doesnt.

I know many in their 40s with multiple homes one guy chooses to rent rather than live in any of them. Its not the boomers in many cases its the younger generation.

There are 5 express rights. You said needs to be enshrined Canada and NZ are not. As I said many are protected by treaties Aus. is a signatory to state,federal legislation as well as common law. Yes implied can be challenged court has added to it through its interpretation. What rights do you want?

No we dont our rights are explicit and implied there all ready. Also in various legislation at both federal and state level and treaties. This is not the US. They only have one due to the fact they fought a war of independence. Can't get rid of so many outdated rights no longer relevant.
