With fall finally here and the Milky Way setting in the west, it was perfectly positioned next to the Sanatorium Covered Bridge #nightsky #milkyway #nightscape
The Milky Way is positioned directly over a covered bridge that is sitting next to a Grove of trees growing next to a creek

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) from October 2025 when it briefly became a naked-eye visible object. This time I got it to plate solve and got accurate color correction. It really drew out the ion tail from the wide dust tail #comet #nightsky #astronomy
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) just before perihelion in late October 2025. A wide dust tail is visible and a distinct ion tail emerges at a 10-degree angle from the bluish-green nucleus

I’ve been reprocessing some older data from 2024, but I liked this one the way it originally was. So here’s an image from 8 October 2024, just taken from the side of the road. #aurora #northernlights #nightsky #nightscape

Playing with some older data from 2024 with new tools and better processing skills. This one was a challenge because of the limited equipment I had at the time and the location, but I think this attempt was a major improvement. #coveredbridge #aurora #nightsky

I had to wait out a dust storm and hours of clouds, and was buffeted by strong winds, but clear skies finally prevailed for a grand Milky Way show over the Three Sisters rock formation at Goblin Valley State Park #nightsky #milkyway #astrophotography #astronomy

While last week’s aurora was mostly just a diffuse glow here, it made a pretty violet backdrop for star trailing #aurora #nightsky #astrophotography #northernlights
An aurora borealis lights up the sky with star trails circling around Polaris overhead. The diffuse violet glow also lights up some snow in the foreground.

Reelfoot Lake, KY/TN. It’s not quite Milky Way season, but the galaxy core rose an hour before sunrise on a recent moonless night, so a good time to play around with equipment. I’m pleased with the results, despite the problematic light pollution.
