Early stages on a very simple edit, about 16 minutes in length. I can never predict when it'll have a memory leak - sometimes I'll be working on a massive project and see it's only using 1.5GB, then I'll be doing early edits on something like this and goes through the roof.

And then there's video editing... come on Final Cut Pro, get your act together here. You're embarrassing the whole ecosystem 🤦🏻‍♂️ #fcp #finalcut #Mac #ineedanewcomputer #andmaybedavinciresolve #memoryleak

"Photographers don't need all that processing power" Using an M1 Max, I'm regularly constrained by how fast my machine can process, and unfortunately it's rarely able to fully leverage both the CPU and GPU simultaneously, even when it needs to. I could use an upgrade but, whew, #inthiseconomy? #Mac

Sorry, that’s not all. It also transfers wealth to the 0.1% while spending a very large portion of its computing resources enacting unlawful global surveillance. Hope this helps. We could be curing disease, but instead we’re tracking everyone on the planet without their consent.

And yet we don’t. And with all the datacenters buying up and raising component prices, it’s moving democratized computing out of reach of the lower and middle classes.

Conversely I’m not sure how any country can compete While using it, since all it does right now is burn massive sums of money with little to no positive output.

We often miss the part where Tony became a billionaire by being a financial villain for decades, until a life changing event. But that’s fiction, because In the real world billionaires insulate themselves far from any potentially life changing events.

You know what bothers me the most about new Trek shows? The zippers 😂 Back in the 60’s Roddenberry had a rule that there were no zippers in Star Trek, because by then we’d have figured out something better. So they always hid closures in outfits. Now 800 years further into the future it’s all zips 😏

Do we really need a scholar of international law to tell us something so self-evident?

I want smart smoke detectors that tell me what room the smoke is in instead of just screaming at me. And I want them to not be a funnel for data collection for a trillion dollar corporation. Is that really too much to ask for?

The SEC would have shut it down months ago if it weren’t for the fact that it was making Trumps numbers look better.

Hand them all over to The Hague. No reason to muddy American politics with local prosecution when it’s most likely straight up war crimes.

I miss typing stuff like this into an inflation calc and get an interesting & informative answer. But since the past 5 years of inflation have been a complete lie, it’s just depressing now. I got $3550 for this, but the fact is quality stuff has approx doubled in price in the past 3 years alone.

Alex Jones’ entire existence is dependent on free speech absolutism. And he’s well aware that citizen “deportations” will be mostly people who have said the wrong thing about Trump, marking the death of free speech in America.

In case you missed it, the Liberal Party running in this national election is not “far left” as some would have you believe, but is centrist at best. And Carney has a long history of conservative financial policies. This ISN’T Trudeau’s Liberal Party. See how you line up here: votecompass.cbc.ca

Unfortunately Canada will never again be the partner it was after this. This will in the long term cost the US hundreds of billions if not Trillions even after the tariffs are rescinded. (Which on their own will cost the US trillions)

And while the US has oil, it costs more, they may or may not be able to eventually supply the metals but that’ll take a long time, and they simply Don’t have the lumber supplies Canada does and never will. (Think housing).

An enormous amount of American manufacturing relies heavily on Canada. From cheap metals, to cheap wood, to cheap oil. It’s all a huge net gain to the US, which Trump has wildly reframed as a loss. They simply can’t spool up their “made in America” plans if they cut off Canada.
