Car weenies on the Internet won’t shut up about how MLS head gaskets require a perfect surface finish down to microns and they won’t take any variation in tolerance. They obviously didn’t tell the guy at GM who machined the heads on this truck in 2007.

I did a thing. I never thought I’d be a Panerai guy, but here we are. I always lumped Panerai in with the early 2000s — bad action flicks, tribal tattoos, goatees, the œuvres of Tony Scott and Sylvester Stallone… Maybe the brand is evolving. Maybe my tastes are. Maybe I’ve just become “that guy.”

Finally got the Bilstein 5100s with the NOS Z71 springs installed last night and I'm pretty pleased with the front ride height. As a treat, ordered some black fifteen52 Turbomac HDs to mount the K03s on. I worked for Brad Beardow for a few years at VMG, so call it residual fondness for the brand.

For Christmas this year, I adopted a new corgi puppy, bought the most oddly-equipped GMC Yukon you ever did see (Cloth bench! Manual dual climate control! Three rows! Two-way power driver seat!), and received the Order of Lenin (For this, Captain). All things considered, ending 2025 on a high note.
