This looks amazing. Everyone I know will be at this. Forget the Gathering of the Tribes, this is the Gathering of the WhatsApp groups.

One year since Regis and I hosted A Some Bizzare Evening at Centrala in Birmingham. A weird, wonderful and chaotic affair that saw the first public screening of Soft Cell’s Sex Dwarf video since 1982. Stevo was his usual baffling, frustrating, and very funny self and a good night was had by all.

Another one of my albums of the year is Barry Adamson’s Cut To Black. I had a great freewheeling chat with Barry about it, which can be found on my Substack, The Dancing Architect. open.substack.com/pub/wesleydo...

What was supposed to be a quick Q&A with John Grant turned into a two-hour chat, which was so good I decided to put the whole thing on my Substack, The Dancing Architect. Part one is here: open.substack.com/pub/wesleydo...

John Grant’s The Art of the Lie is one of my albums of the year. I reviewed it for Record Collector magazine (link below), and also interviewed John for my Substack (link in the next post). recordcollectormag.com/reviews/albu...

The The released their first album Ensoulment for 25 years back in September. I reviewed it for Record Collector magazine, and a quote from it was used on the massive poster campaign around London! recordcollectormag.com/reviews/albu...

This year saw the unlikely return of The Wolfgang Press with their first album for 30 years. I had a chat with them for The Quietus to talk about the album and their connection to housewives’ favourite Tom Jones. thequietus.com/interviews/s...

Nick Cave is currently preaching to arenas up and down the country, but earlier in the year I wrote a long read for The Quietus, celebrating the 40th birthday of his debut From Her to Eternity. thequietus.com/opinion-and-...

I had the privilege of speaking to Blixa Bargeld about Einstürzende Neubauten’s excellent new album RAMPEN for The Quietus. Prob one of my favourite interviews ever. thequietus.com/articles/34020…
