Drag Race UK season 4 saw Pixie Polite break the supposed Brighton curse first brought on after Joe Black on season 2. The next season saw Anubis next in line to befall the curse. But it was Pixie who refused to be another part of this storyline. Going on to make it to the top five. Since then it’s been nonstop with producing adult pantos and touring the world, and she’s back with another adult panto.

We are back for the third and final bracket! The purple group, which includes Sam Star, Jasmine Kennedie, Hershii Liquour-Jete, Shuga Cain, Kennedy Davenport, and Joey Jay. It was great to see the first openly gay contestant back, and I was so excited to see Hershii, one of my favorite hometown queens, back on TV! Fans had a lot of opinions on the entrance looks online.

Consider what it means, in 2026, to yell "asshole" in public. Not at a taxi cutting you off, not in the privacy of your apartment when the Wi-Fi drops. But collectively, gleefully, in a darkened theater at a fictional character named Brad, while an Oscar-nominated actress playing his fiancée gets called a slut by the row behind you. Even when the Broadway production put up signs reminding audiences that this is live theater, not a midnight movie screening, people showed up anyway, having memorized lines from a participation script passed hand to hand through 51 years of cult fandom, ready to shout them at real human actors.

Hi besties! Forgive my absence. I was traveling to visit my entire family in the Deep South. This is a cry for help. Anyway, let’s talk about the entire pink bracket before we move into the purple one next week. I was excited for this one because I couldn’t wait to see Crystal Methyd and Salina Estities. That went… We’ll talk about that later.

When I was young, I spent summers with my grandparents in upstate New York. Did they have a pool? Yes. Did they have a giant forest behind the house with a stream running through it and a tree fort they’d once built for my uncle, the perfect place for a young boy to explore and dream? Also yes. Did I spend all day inside the house reading…

With a resume that stretches back to choreographing Boogie Nights and dancing for Paula Abdul, Adam Shankman’s STOP! THAT! TRAIN! (in theaters June 12) could be the start of a new chapter for WOW’s media empire and its roster of queens. WERRRK.com sat down with Adam and the cast to dish on the comeback of disaster comedies making and the makeup choices nobody got a vote on.

There is a moment in the second act of Schmigadoon! when the stage lighting cleaves in two. On one side, Melissa (Sara Chase) is falling for Danny Bailey (Max Clayton) — a carney himbo so golden-haired and uncomplicated he practically constitutes a genre unto himself. On the other, Josh (Alex Brightman) has discovered Emma Tate (

Known for a vibrant LGBTQ community & a legendary nightlife destination (Paradise/The Empress Hotel), it's no wonder that the heart of the Garden State's Pride celebration occurs every June right in Asbury Park, New Jersey. This year, Asbury Park's own ShowRoom Cinema is rolling out their own pride programming & it is filled with fierce activism, vibrant art and an eclectic and varied roster of screenings, discussions and events right in Asbury Park!

If there’s one independent artist that should be on everyone's radar, it has to be Jason Kwan. In a world where the radio is pushing and telling us what to listen to, the goodness is in the indie music scene. After the wonderful EP Déjà Vu Jason is back with his new single “Break The Ceiling". Teaming up with the iconic…

For Myki Meeks, winning Season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race was all about playing the long game. This Orlando-based superstar most definitely didn’’t soar through the competition, with a Drag Race run filled with soaring highs as well as a handful of challenging moments of her own as well. I caught up with Meeks following her Season 18 crowning to discuss the…

For Nini Coco, her RuPaul’s Drag Race run was full of unexpected moments. For every eye catching runway look or acrobatic-filled lip sync, Coco faced a vocal challenge along with unexpected friction with her sisters. Rising to the Top 2, Coco capped a Drag Race run filled with memorable moments and a brand new group of sisters. I caught up with Nini to chat about her…

Season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race could have been called RuPaul’s Drag Race: Florida vs. The World with so many performers from the Sunshine State battling it out for the crown. Juicy Love Dion is not just part of a famed legacy family like The Dion’s of South Florida, but rose to the top of the pack on Season 18 as the winner of the Lip Sync LaLaPaRuZa!

While this new format brings something fresh to the All-Stars universe, I’m sad this is our last episode with the Orange Bracket. I’m even more sad that only two of these queens will move forward to the next round. I would love all of these queens to move forward, but especially Dawn, because her boyfriend said she could get a cat if she advances.

The 79th Cannes Film Festival kicks off this week with a lineup stacked with LGBTQ+ films. For the first time in history, the Queer Palm has a record breaking 21 films in competition, and we can’t wait to see them all. From Almodóvar’s latest masterpiece, to a campy animated quest to save gay Paris, the diversity of LGBTQ+ storytelling this year is unparalleled.

RuPaul doesn’t let us sleep, does she? RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars is back, and we are working with brackets again. This time, however, only two queens from each group will advance to the next round. I am so excited for the Orange Bracket to have its time in the spotlight. As a reminder, we only have three episodes with each group!

In 2023, the City of Asbury Park (with encouragement from Paradise), declared May 7th Drag Visibility Day.  This declaration was a direct response to the unfathomable amount of anti-drag and anti-trans laws being introduced into legislation across the country. The proclamation was subsequently and quickly recognized by both the State Senate and Governor Phil Murphy's office. On May 7th, Paradise continues the glorious tradition of celebrating this milestone with our community to showcase their support of their LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters not just in the local Asbury Park community, but nationwide.

Donnie Haynie grew up watching the Van Zandt family through a fence. His grandmother did their laundry. He bounced through foster care, fell into the Texas Aryan Brotherhood, killed a man, and arrived at Del Valle Correctional Institute with Nazi tattoos, a gift for mimicry, and a hunger for something he couldn't name. "Now I got you where I want you," he tells…

First dates are a kind of performance. You arrive already in character — groomed, charming, armed with the best version of whatever story you've decided to tell about yourself. The awkward pauses are the most honest parts. Everything else is an audition. Tom Noonan understood this when he wrote What Happened Was… in 1992, first staging it in the round at his East Village Paradise Theatre, where the audience sat inside the playing area — inside the apartment, inside the date.

Welcome back to The WERRRK.com BOP OF THE WEEK, where we shine the spotlight on new songs from queer and queer-friendly musical artists! This week's BOP OF THE WEEK is "Miss Stasha" by Miss Continental 2018, Miss Gay USofA 2009 (plus more crowns than I can fit here!) Stasha Sanchez! Oh and she's also been a Coach spokeswoman!

Eighteen queens are returning to the Werk Room to battle it out on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 11 (premiering May 8th on Paramount+) and they're joined by an absolutely stacked cast of celebrity guests judges (more on that in a moment). The gagworthy trailer for All Stars 11 just dropped and it showcases stellar queens, shocking twists, and one iconic celebrity guest judge for the premiere episode; Grammy® Award-winning icon…

Well hello there Miss Cocoa Amore! How are you doing today gorgeous? What is the weather like over there in the UK? Hi ya! I’m doing very well thank you, I hope that you are too! The weather over here is as always, grey and gloomy! It’s lovely! *laughs* Grey and gloomy feels like the default setting over there. It's sunny but cold here in New York with the chance of a nuclear fallout depending on the whims of a lunatic but we're here to talk about happier things, namely you!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 winner Myki Meeks has just been crowned 'America's Next Drag Superstar' & fans can now prepare to welcome back 18 fan favorites to the Drag Race Werk Room; the return of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (Season 11) is upon us! The season debuts on Friday May 8th with a splashy two-episode premiere! …

WrestleMania isn’t just the grandest stage of them all, it’s the longest-running fashion show where the dress code isn't just to walk that aisle, it's to look damn good doing it. Here on the Ringside Runway, it's not who won the match, it's who understood the assignment. We’re here to celebrate the looks that ate… and maybe shade one or two that should have stayed in catering.

We made it through another season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The finale kicked off with each queen from the season hitting the runway one more time. You’ll be shocked to hear Jane Don’t’s look the best, but Vita VonTeese, Juicy Love Dion, Discord Addams, and Briar Blush’s looks. That is always my favorite part of the finale. I love seeing everyone all together again.

The pageant world has long been a prominent figure within the drag world. While we may associate drag's rise in the mainstream thanks in part to RuPaul's Drag Race, it’s the queens that came before who are claiming back the spotlight. Drag pageants over the decades have grown from early pageants to the rise of ballroom, Miss Gay America, and Miss Continental.

In the pantheon ofRuPaul’s Drag Race eliminations, the elimination of Jane Don’t is most certain, going to go down in herstory. This Season 18 frontrunner has shockingly departed the competition, but the fandom is already for this superstar standout’s next chapter. I sat down to chat with Jane Don’t post elimination and we dished about everything from what she thinks led to her departure from the competition, the distinct flavor of Seattle drag, and why keeping pop culture superstars like Ann Miller and Jackie Beat continue to inspire her.

Having superstars like Matt Rogers, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Joel McHale, and Lisa Rinna together in one film may seem like the fiercest fever dream you could ever have, but with that is exactly what is happening when STOP! THAT! TRAIN! hits theaters this summer! Complete with RuPaul serving as Commander in Chief (

With a heavy dose of rock-n-roll sensibility and a strong artistic edge, Discord Addams showcased a definite perspective on the runway and throughout the challenges of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18 (her characterization of The Pope during Snatch Game of Love remains a standout)! While her departure remains a stunning elimination to many, Addams is firmly looking (and walking) forward. I sat down with Discord to dish about the challenges of Season 18, the runway critiques (and criticisms) and that now viral runway walk!

Last time we spoke, I had a bad attitude. You may think I quit the site entirely after Jane Don’t was eliminated, and I can’t say I didn’t consider it. The sad truth is, I ended up back in the hospital. If you’ve been keeping up with these recaps and noticed I am missing some weeks, it’s because my insides were trying to kill me.

Quinta Brunson take note; Kenya Pleaser is ready for her close up. After a star-marking turn on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Pleaser is looking back on her run and looking towards her future. Kenya sat down with me for an exclusive chat to dish about the struggles she went through on Drag Race, the pinch me moments she continues to experience, and why this self-proclaimed “lip sync survivor” is ready for…

Jamie Lee Curtis has been a strong advocate for queer identities and rights for most of her career - and then became a mother to all of us when daughter Ruby came out as trans nearly five years ago with a front-page spread on People Magazine in October 2021.  During SXSW 2026, she spoke at a featured session entitled “Jamie Lee Curtis: If Not Now, When, if Not Me, Who?

There is a moment early in Cold War Choir Practice when the Choir — three women in varying shades of communist red, nominally carolers — drifts through the opening scene singing sweetly about "special beauty and warmth." The melody is lovely. The faces are placid. The effect is deeply, inexplicably disturbing. Something is hunting you, and it is humming. Playwright…

Athena Dion is what many consider the standard for drag, not just in her South Florida backyard, but now globally, after a superstar making turn on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18. Following her departure from the competition, Dion is looking back at her emotional lip sync against Juicy Love Dion and forward towards more appearances on television and film. I caught up with Athena post-elimination and she gave me the inside scoop on what she was thinking during that lip sync and told me exactly what makes South Florida drag so special.

I’m here today with a bad attitude. Well, I always have a bad attitude. However, this time, I am mad at RuPaul. I almost didn’t write this. But I thought, “I need to provide my loyal army of readers (shhh… pretend) with content.” You already know what happens at this point, but we’ll cry about that together in a few minutes.

For Mia Starr, scorching the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18 main stage was arguably one of the biggest stages she ever took, but definitely not the first. After dancing alongside global icons like Jennifer Lopez & Rihanna, Starr was a standout during Drag Race Season 18, especially during those now epic lip syncs! While she has departed the competition, Starr has her eyes firmly set on pop superstardom of her own.

On your way in, they hand you a blue balaclava along with the playbill, casually, as if this were a perfectly normal thing to receive at the door of a theater. In French culinary tradition, there is a dish called the ortolan bunting — a small songbird fattened in darkness, drowned in Armagnac, roasted whole, and eaten bones and all beneath a napkin held over the diner's head.

The first thing you notice when you walk into a Drag Experiences makeover is the suitcases. The kind you drag through airports, stuffed with wigs and heels and dresses in every size, because Justin Dorsen has become, as he puts it with evident delight, a drag handler. He wheels them through the streets of Hell's Kitchen himself. This is a man who decided, at 26, that what New York was missing was him taking tourists to drag bars, and who has since found himself fielding inquiries from Fortune 500 companies about whether their executives might be next in the chair.

I know what you’re thinking. Where have you been? Well, I had emergency surgery, but I am so back, baby. Let’s talk about drag race and try to understand whether the judges actually want a family resemblance or not in the makeover challenge, shall we? Since I saw you last, Darlene Mitchell had won a challenge, and Kenya Pleaser sashayed away.

From Millicent Hailes’ Perfect to Tainá Müller’s Apolo, trans representation and inclusivity was at the front and center of SXSW 2026, with other notable films to be Luchina Fisher’s The Dads, and Amy Jenkins’ Adam’s Apple.  Both Perfect and Apolo demand humanity first within the modern conversations revolving around the intersectionality of gender identity, sexual fluidity, and…

In terms of classic drag excellence, Vita VonTesse delivered that and so much more on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18. From a gagworthy garment crafted out of umbrellas right out of the gate, VonTesse Starr was instantly a contender for the crown this season. Despite departing the competition, VonTesse Starr plans to bring the “Vita Vita Vita” experience to fans worldwide.

It starts soft. Almost tender. I'm alive. I'm alive. The tempo picks up and something that was a song becomes a chant becomes a litany becomes a scream becomes a man clawing at the fact of his own existence with everything he has left. I was seated at a table at Bowery Palace with almost no buffer between me and the stage.

Direct from Drag Race México, Serena Morena entered RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs the World Season 3 as a fan favorite ready to take on a brand new crop of queens. From a stunning "Mr. Freeze Goes Glam" look to a once in a lifetime Lip Sync For Your Life, Morena more than made her mark on this competition as well.

For her third run at the title of Miss Paradise, Vanity LaVain's recipe was simple; be you. From the moment she hit the interview chair to the main stage at Paradise, her mission was to showcase herself in its truest form and let that shine. LaVain went on to become Miss Paradise 2026, succeeding Venus Mystique and LaVain's own mother, Olivia Lux (

The excellence of queens from Drag Race Philippines never goes unnoticed and on Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs The World, Minty Fresh showcased that standard first hand. From eye-popping runways to a now famed Snatch Game, Fresh made a firm stamp on the competition before sashaying away. I sat down to chat with Minty about her…
