Put it like this, a 12 year old rec softball team will probably have 9 kids playing travel, meaning they're spending 200+ on bat vs. 3 that are buying cheaper one. Same age baseball team is closer to 50/50 so fewer are buying expensive bats, bringing the overall average down.
