Central Image: Starline is seen clutching his head with both hands, clearly distressed. The borders on this one are shock lines coming from his body, meant to show he’s close to another break down. The situation and looping is threatening to make him act erratically.

Panel 1- Shows Zori and Tabi back where Starline met them, both walking ahead normally while Starline peers from the corner, still looking shaky.

Zori (As echoing words, almost like SFX)
Are you sure your only mistake was underestimating Eggman? Was that the only thing you did wrong?

Panel 2- Starline is shown looking to and fro around the corner he and the others passed.

I know he hurt you, but are there people you might’ve hurt on the way, maybe?

Panel 3- Starline is shown stumbling down the rocky slope he once slid down flawlessly, trying not to go head over heels.

Are you sure you know your way around?

Zori
Sure, I’m sure! This way

Panel 2- The group exits the dark, but it’s the same area where we first saw Starline in page 1. Zori is continuing on cheerily, but Starline’s baffled.

Starline
Wh-wait a moment, this is a circle! I’ve passed this wall earlier!

Zori
You did? Are you sure?

Starline
Yes, right before I met with you! I’m positive.

Panel 3- Zori’s in full view. They’re stopped and Starline is looking at them warily.

Zori
Maybe we can take a break and figure this out?

Starline
It’s simply not possible. At no point did we circle back, and we went down and across a chasm, so how-

Zori
Then that’s not the important thing to ask, right?

Panel 4- Starline is now closer, leaning forward, in Zori’s face. Zori’s clearly saddened, but not scared while Starline looks disheveled again. Tabi is clearly angry about Starline here.

Starline
Are you a complete and utter imbecile? Of course it matters! I need to know how this is happening so I can-

Panel 5- Tabi is now in Starline’s face, giving him a death glare. The platypus has leaned back, realizing he’s in danger now. Zori is trying to play peace keeper.

Zori
Maybe we got turned around somehow is all?

I think if we keep going and really think about things while we do, we’ll get there.

Panel 6- Starline is the only character in view. He has a hand on the side of his head, an eye half closed. His glasses askew. He’s starting to unravel…

Starline
Y-yes, of course. Surely I merely missed something small…

Page Six: (5 Panels)

Panel 1- Zori is shown in the foreground of the panel, with Starline behind. This panel is largely to illustrate an event in their journey as they turn a corner in the dark. Tabi is sitting on Zori’s head and looking back at Starline, who is not paying attention, while Zori has more general enthusiasm.

Zori
So, how’d you get down here?

Starline
Wandering after a…miscalculation. By a stroke of luck I managed to dig myself out from that wretched experience.

Panel 2- Both Zori and Starline are shown sliding down a rocky slope, as if surfing, small dustclouds coming from beneath them as they go.

Starline
And why are you here, precisely?

Zori
Oh, to help anyone who’s lost!

Starline
So, this is a frequent occurrence? And you do so for no benefit at all?

Zori
None! Helping is its own reward.

Panel 3- Starline and Zori are now seen hopscotching over several pillars in an abyss to get from one part of the cave system to the other. Zori’s jumping across like it’s nothing while Starline finds balancing more precarious.

Zori
So, what mistake do you think got you here?

Starline
I merely underestimated the doctor. I shall never afford him such an advantage again!

Zori
Huh? Are you sure that’s the reason?

Starline
Gah, yes. Must you be so obtuse?

Zori
Oh, am I? I usually think of myself as a-cute-y~!

Panel 4- In another section of the cave there’s a fork in the road, Zori goes down one with Tabi, starline follows, but looks to the other with curiosity.

Starline
I am beginning to see why people might get lost.

Zori
There’s tons of reasons, but usually it’s because they refuse to consider how they got here.

Panel 5- In that tunnel, the three pass several glowing fungi, Starline looking at them in passing, half lit as Zori’s barely in panel. They’re heading into absolute dark.

Zori
Mind if I ask you a few more questions? It usually helps pass the time.

Starline
Hmph. I suppose. Surely we’re near the exit by now.

Panel 1- Zori turns their head and Starline’s hand is in their view. Waves are emanating out, as if to hypnotize Zori.

Zori
Oh, sure, what’s up?
Panel 2- Near match. Zori’s head is tilted as they continue.

Zori
Does it have to do with your glove?

Panel 3- Starline, baffled and is trying to salvage his failed effort, making a hasty excuse.

Starline
Er, sorry, merely stretching my fingers. I was feeling oddly stiff. Do you suppose it could be serious?

Zori
I don’t think so. You feel okay outside of that, though, right?

Panel 4- Starline, now with his arms behind his back, begins to muse idly, his plan now foiled and defaulting back to him following Zori.

Starline
Relatively speaking. I must say, though, it is a surprise to see a new zeti so far from Lost Hex, let alone beneath one of Dr. Eggman’s bases.

How was it you made your way here?

Panel 5- The panel shows Zori and Tabi alone, with Zori looking at Tabi, who is giving them a small look of affection.

Zori
Oh, that’s a long, old story. I don’t like to talk about it too much, but I’m used to things here. This is a nice place to find stuff, even if there’s less than you’d think.

Sometimes that’s how it is, though. It takes a long while for people to figure out life and where they wanna be, or how to find what’s important.

Panel 1- Starline is looking at the two of them. His eyes closed, a hand out, he’s sure a bit of eloquence and finesse can trick these two. Meanwhile, Zori and Tabi exchange looks as he talks, whether it’s out of finding his words dubious or disappointment he’s not doing what they feel is quite right.

Starline
Of course, I would be happy to repay any kindness the two of you show. Surely you would not leave a poor, lost soul to this cavern, would you?

Panel 2- Zori, with kindness, looks at Starline. Faint hope is present, while Tabi is shaking their head.

Zori
Of course not. If you want we can help you find your way.

Panel 3- Starline smiles smugly, feeling he’s gotten over.

Starline
Splendid. By all means, I trust your guidance, my fine zeti.

Panel 4- Zori moves ahead with Tabi on their shoulder, motioning for Starline to follow them. Zori is looking towards Starline who has a wry smile. He’s looking at his gloved hand which has the hypnotic ability.

Zori
Alright, let’s head over here.

Panel 5- Point of view is over Starline’s shoulder as he looks down at his glove, the visual effect is to show the item is charging.

Starline
I’m quite grateful for the help, but there is one thing I may need you to look into.

Panel 1- Starline is walking into view and towards the light. He’s somewhat averting his gaze. Tabi is standing with their arms folded while Zori’s all too happy to chat.

Starline
Er, greetings. I hope I’m not interrupting anything pressing.

Zori
Oh, no! Tabi and me were just playing rock-paper-scissors.

Panel 2- Similar to last panel, but now Zori is gesturing to Tabi, who is looking up at them. Zori’s speaking candidly about the game.

Zori
It’s a bit tough, though, since Tabi always picks rock. Maybe they know it’s because I always use scissors.

Or maybe it’s on account of Tabi not having fingers?

Panel 3- Last of the bunch of the similar panels. Zori has their hands out to Starline, still explaining, but also almost as if trying to hint at something. Tabi is just shaking their head.

Zori
Either way, Tabi keeps telling me it’s impossible to win if I keep doing that, and sure it’s a little frustrating, but I don’t mind.
There are worse things than trying to do the impossible, you know?

Panel 4- A somewhat bemused Starline who finds the situation awkward,

Starline
Yes, quite so.

Panel 5- Now more composed and trying to take charge of the situation Starline is more or less his suave, scheming self here. His ego keeps him from questioning things here too much.

Starline
So, Zori and Tabi, correct? You two seem friendly enough. Allow me to introduce myself, I am-

Zori
Dr. Starline.

Starline
Ah, my reputation precedes me. Excellent. Then perhaps you can also tell me where the exit is? I feel I’ve been lost underground for ages.

Panel 2- Near match, but there’s now a hand reaching out from the darkness towards the wall. It’s Starline. He’s exhausted as well as lost within this strange cavern, though we don’t fully see him.

??? (Starline)
Blast it…I swear I’ve passed this cave wall a dozen times…

Panel 3- Starline is now in view. A little disheveled, his glasses askew, his hair out of sorts. He’s in one piece, but not his best.

Starline
Surely I haven’t been here before, have I?

Panel 4- Starline is shown composing himself, standing tall and fixing his glasses, trying to get a handle on himself.

Starline (under his breath, a little shaky)
Focus yourself, doctor. If you’re going to get out there and make the doctor see he hasn’t figured you out entirely, you must keep a calm mind and find your way to the surface.

Panel 5- Now, starting to bolster with pride and some bitterness. His fist is clenched, a hint of anger.

Starline
And this time nothing will keep me from seizing victory. No nostalgia, no admiration, no-
