I'm combining flowers I have photographed with a watering can from my garden. #sketch #art #humanmade

Wendy L Macdonald @wendylmacdonald.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

This #sketch was the most challenging of all the ones I have been doing since November 2025. #drawing is a great way to make use of your photography collection. #art #humanmade

Happy #WorldArtDay I'm #sketching my beloved cats this week. It's way harder than flowers. 😹😻🐾🥰

I'm continuing to ignore the inner critic so that I can continue creating #art through #sketching photography I have done. What do you wish you spent more time doing? Show up and don't let the inner editor shut you down.

After drawing over 100 flowers from my flower photography, I have now switched to drawing birds from my collection of photographs. Oh my, it's harder. And I'm using a fine tip marker to force myself not to overthink my #art . Not sure how long I can do this. Just show up. #journal card.

I have done a sketch of my flower photos six mornings a week for several months now. Usually I do simple ones. This one took two sittings to finish. Showing up faithfully shores up one's confidence. #art

This is my 80th sketch of pictures I have taken since beginning the challenge to do more things that bring me joy. Six mornings a week I spend a few minutes drawing. I don't judge my work harshly. It's about showing up and enjoying the process. #art #flowers

I've been sketching for a few minutes each weekday morning. Drawing from my own nature pictures means I don't have to worry about copyright since the photos are mine. A couple of months ago I challenged myself to do more of the joy making things I miss. What do you miss? #art

My #cat never judges me for having so much craft clutter on my desk. As long as she can find a flat spot to rest. 😻🐾🥰

My husband noticed the #cats posing for a picture, so he suggested I come into the den and take this shot. 😻🥰🐾🐈 He gets me. That's worth more than chocolates and flowers. 💞
