We hope Mainers will vote for Mr. Jackson. He may not be our ideal Senator but it’s not the priority right now. We must defeat ALL Republicans and start the process of restoring democracy to our country. There’s a long road ahead. That’s especially true for conservatives.

We don’t need to be anti-science. We can accept that climate change is real but work towards conservative solutions. The solutions to big problems should define us politically not believing conspiracy theories or calling science fake news.

We wish more conservatives were able to see this and accept this fact. It’s ok…we got a lot wrong but admitting one’s mistakes and growing from them is an important trait. It will make our country and our democracy stronger. Not saying it’s easy but it is necessary.

We hope people will stop calling Republicans “MAGA” It implies that this immoral and unethical behavior is a result of Trump opposed to what it truly is which is a foundational piece of the GOP for decades. The big change is how open Republicans are about it now. Not the actual beliefs

As a Gold Star Son, the "Arc De Trump" is personal for Major Gen. Paul Eaton. His father is buried at Arlington National Cemetery and Trump's 250-foot monument would sit right at its entrance. We need to honor the fallen, and all military families, who have given everything to this country.

We have a ton of respect for Bill & believe the piece is probably well reasoned but 2 things: 1. It’s Republican culture that rewards aggression & scorns accountability. People need to see clearly this is a GOP issue not a MAGA one 2. You can’t feed substack which is a Nazi propaganda machine

This is unfortunately true. But many conservatives do. One way to demonstrate your support for Veterans is to follow our lead and leave the Republican Party. You don’t have to give up being a conservative but we can’t keep being members of a treasonous organization.

A reminder for conservatives that Mitch McConnell was first elected to the Senate in 1984. We also loved him at first but we have come to realize how much he contributed to creating this current situation. He’s probably done as much damage to our democracy as Trump. It’s time to leave the GOP
