A nationalist dictatorship is one thing. What we have here is a pseudo-nationalist dictatorship. While ranting about national greatness and distorting the historical record, the administration is in fact prioritizing corruption and abandoning national interests.

Musk and the Russians have based their entire gambit on the bet that white Americans will be so attracted by a program of restoring Jim Crow that they’ll overlook an infinite amount of corruption and won’t even mind a drop in their standard of living. The bet is looking like a winner.

Re grievance: comparison with Nazism shows that the Germans had a genuine beef, in that they had lost a war (unfairly, as they thought). Although America won the Cold War, Trump has still convinced people that it was defeated and became a global laughing stock. Am I alone in finding this weird?
