Increasingly convinced the opening of The Odyssey is a callback to Planet of the Apes.

Dunno what your data source is for this but PetrolSpy indicates Perth prices are already trending *down*. The average price for U91 was higher in December than it was yesterday. That spike is about $8 more per average tank than the previous peak.

I dunno where the Vision Pro sits in Apple's financials but the Watch and HomePod and other accessories business made $35B in FY25; Mac only made $33B. With 48% margins its a great business. It's just never going to compare to the iPhone, which basically blows the rest of the business away.

Keep thinking of this passage by Simone Weil and how we failed to do the hard work of changing ourselves. This is the punishment Trump deserves: we transform our societies such that no one will ever associate him with greatness.

The only punishment capable of hurting Hitler and, in the centuries to come, of preventing little boys who thirst for greatness from following his example, is so total a transformation of the meaning of greatness that Hider is barred from it.
