I’m in Europe (Italy) for a wedding. The heat is rough, but Aperol spritzes help and fortunately all my accommodations have had AC… and it’s Italy so the food is great (and affordable), the landscapes are beautiful, the ancient history is fascinating. 9/10 trip, would do again even in a heatwave.

Ultimately, we managed to load and made it home safely. I'm incredibly grateful to all the other vendors who rallied together to help each other get out safely. I'm disappointed in the event organizers who were nowhere to be found. I'm so sorry for the families of those killed and injured tonight.

We ended up being stuck in the park for several hours with no communication from event organizers on whether the scene was safe, whether we could get our cars to load out, or which entrances to the park we could use to load out so as not to interfere with any police activity.

The last communication from event organizers was just after 5pm, and directed vendors to begin breaking down at 9pm, no earlier. I found out that APD had shut the event down about 8pm, only after attempting to go to one of the bar booths to get us a drink and the person working there told me.

My fiancee and I were at the event as vendors, the event organizers were completely absent from any kind of communication or management of the situation. APD shut the event down early before the shooting occurred, and event organizers didn't communicate a damn thing to us. Might be a story here.
