mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 14/10/2026younger VAs may see it as open direction and put their best foot forward, but more established ones are (understandably) not putting an undue amount of work forward for no gain. as long as they get a clean take, the director is like "sounds great thank you" and then goes back to playing marvel snap 1530
mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 14/10/2026when i try to picture what nintendo's voice direction is like, i'm just imagining a guy sitting in the soundbooth on their phone. matt mercer comes in and is like "so how do you want me to sound? menacing?" and they're like "sure sounds good" and then he just shrugs and does his normal voice 2807

mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 29/09/2026being clean-shaven really does age me back like 5 years. i was always getting people overshooting my age back when i consistently had a beard and now people are constantly undershooting 170
mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 29/09/2026i don’t think i’ve physically changed all that much in the last 10 years aside from gaining some weight, but seeing myself from 10 years ago is like. damn who is that guy 3970

mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 28/09/2026i think "favorite games" is an easier list to pick than this was and they're definitely not identical. like pokemon silver may be my favorite pokemon but playing red is almost literally how i learned to read. i tried to mix in a few from adulthood too 1140

mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 25/09/2026i cannot hold onto a username to save my life. every new website i shuffle off past names and just think of a new one. lots of people have a handy nom de plume that they work under but i can't do that. if i eventually incorporate i probably need something better than "mike's cool productions" 6260
mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 25/09/2026thinking about this again and grappling with the larger issue that i'm so brand-averse that i can't think of any sort of production/studio name that suits me at all. i need help thinking of one but if you suggest a bad one on this post i'm gonna block you *feels bad* okay i'll just ignore it 3390

mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 25/09/2026it WAS pretty pricey (but for the lights themselves + a case in excellent condition it was a pretty fuckin good deal) but i’m already making a 1/4th of it back next week for a subrental. so after a few months it’ll already pay for itself and (very slowly) will be printing money 2350
mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 25/09/2026made Big Money Moves today and bought my own lights. not especially potent on their own but the idea is to subrent them and supplement shows i’d already be working on. feeling like a proud father of two very dusty sons 1691
mike @websitepurveyor.bsky.social · 24/09/2026kamikaze douga's jojo openings have been some of my favorite anime ops ever, their 2d/3d tech literally inspired how i made my thesis film way back in college. i'm excited for the whole anime but i'm probably never gonna get sick of watching this. absolutely kickass song too 0200
