What's in bloom this winter? At Northlake Commons, it’s a Garrya elliptica, aka Coast silktassel, a PNW native plant. This evergreen shrub loves winter & is known for its wavy leaves & hanging flower clusters called catkins, which grow 8–12 inches long. Catch it in bloom now through early spring!

Northlake Commons' #bioswale is designed to filter 2.6million gallons of polluted water every year, allowing dirty roadway runoff to enter & be cleansed of harmful toxins before reaching Lake Union. Watching the water flow through it is amazing! #seattle #stormwater #landscape #architecture
