This is an extremely indirect way of [image]. Giving people choices doesn't change what your role is in the world at large. Bluesky's PDS is the default and has a lot of control and influence over people. We should expect better from Bluesky regardless of our ability to move elsewhere.

Let's say we paid everyone $5000/mo (which is a fair conservative living wage in Canada, ignoring non-monetary disability benefits.) It would cost the Canadian government ~4.5 trill. dollars per year. 2x GDP. Assuming 6% of the population lives on disability, that would only cost 270 billion.
